Evony Ground General Tier List

This Evony Ground General Tier List shows you all the best generals to use for a PvP march made up of Ground Troops. Ground troops are very effective when used to attack other players.

Their high HP and Defense attributes allow them to close in on range heavy defenses with smaller losses. Once they reach the enemy-ranged troops, they decimate them.

Please note, that this Evony Ground General tier list selects the best Evony ground generals based on their HP and Defense, with attack a secondary consideration. This is due to the primary use of this march to withstand a ranged attack and reach the enemy line.

Why use a Ground General

Ground Troops start to become really important the longer you spend playing Evony. They are very durable troops with high HP and defense stats.

Ground Troops are not particularly impressive in terms of attack, but their high HP and defense makes up for this deficiency. Indeed, as a result, they are very useful as a counter to Ranged Troops.

They are able to withstand the attacks from ranged troops at distance, to get close to them and take them all out. If you know you are facing a Keep that is very Ranged Troop heavy, you should always send a Ground march.

Combined with a specialist Evony Ground General, ground troops are particularly effective. Read our Evony Troop Guide for more information on the strengths and weaknesses of each troop type.

Evony Ground General Counters

There is one troop type you really need to be wary of if you are relying on an Evony Ground General. This is the mounted troop march with one of the Best Evony Mounted Generals.

The high attack of mounted troops is able to make light work of ground troops, even with their high HP and defense. If you attack a Keep with a heavy Mounted Defense, you will find the experience very painful.

What makes a Good Evony Ground General

When selecting an Evony Ground General, there are some key things you want to look for to ensure they can get the most out of your ground troops.

Evony Ground General Trajan

These Generals should first have skills that give ground troops an HP and defense boost. In addition, their stats should be quite high in defense and leadership to increase defense and HP even further.

Furthermore, it can be useful to see march size buffs to increase the number of ground troops you can send on an attack.

Evony Ground General Skill Books

Typically, when starting to develop one of your Evony Ground Generals, the first thing you will likely do is add Skill Books. For a pure ground march, you may want to add the 3 following Skill Books if you are allowed:

  • Lvl 4 Ground Troop Attack – Ground Attack +25%
  • Lvl 4 Ground Troop HP – Ground HP +25%
  • Lvl 4 Ground Troop Speed – Ground Speed +20%
Scipio Africanus Evony General Build

Speed is particularly important here as it allows the ground troops to get within striking distance of the enemy ranged troops much quicker. This means the enemy-ranged troops are unable to kill as many of them from distance.
