Is Winfield Scott a good general in Evony?

Once fully leveled and specialties maxed out, Winfield Scott has a very good ranged attack. However, he does have some shortcomings vs. other high-ranking ranged generals. Firstly, much of his attack is tied up in the final specialty.

This is very expensive to max out. Additionally, his ranged troop HP is very low making his attack a little more squishy than other generals. Lastly, he is really a ranged specialist, making him less versatile for example if you wanted to use a siege and ranged mixed march.

If you have the option, you are better off going for another general of the same rank.

Anaconda Plan

Increases troops’ attack by 5% and increases ranged troops’ attack by another 20% when General is leading the army.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Winfield Scott will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Ranged Troop Defense +10% and HP +10%.
• 2 Star – Increases Troop Death into Wounded Rate by 8% when General is leading the army to attack.
• 3 Star – March Size Capacity +10%.
• 4 Star – Ranged Troop Attack +10% and Defense +15%.
• 5 Star – Ranged Troop Attack +15% and HP +15%.

The below builds outline which skill books and equipment refines you should use depending on your requirements.

Ranged PvP

This build is ideal for players who are very range heavy. It sacrifices everything in favor of ranged attack whilst also topping up ranged troop HP and Defense via equipment refines.

This build will ensure you do maximum damage, especially in the early game when players are quite mounted heavy. You can alternatively swap March Size for Ranged Troop HP if you want to give your Ranged troops a bit more durability.
