In TrainStation 2 you are tasked with managing a fleet of trains in order to upgrade your Station, unlock more locations to make deliveries, improve your trains to improve their capacity, and much more! This can be a lot to do for new players with many making some bad choices that can slow down their progress from the get-go. In these TrainStation 2 Tips for Beginners learn some easy things you can do so as not to fall into these traps.
Table of Contents
Manage your Warehouse

This is easily one of the most important TrainStation 2 Tips for Beginners and is an issue you will come up against consistently as you progress in the game. However, this is most pronounced in the early stages of the game as your Warehouse capacity is tiny! Therefore you need to watch your capacity carefully so that you are able to collect materials from your Trains and Factorys in order to complete Jobs.
If you do not do this effectively, then you will need to regularly bin materials to free up capacity which is far from efficient. To avoid this, ensure you are only going to get the materials you actually need for your next production or mission. In addition, you’ll want to prioritize upgrading your Warehouse to increase capacity. A key requirement for this is to increase the number of Passengers you can have at your Station.
Save your Gems
Gems are a premium resource in TrainStation 2 and must be spent wisely so as not to be wasted. Indeed, the only way to replenish your supply of this resource is by spending money or completing achievements. Some things that they can be useful to spend on are premium buildings with high Passenger capacity, increased Factory capacity, or rare Containers if you are in need of better Trains.
Hire Dispatchers

The number of Trains you can send out on jobs is limited by the number of Dispatchers you have. To speed up your progress you can increase the number by buying additional Dispatchers. One option to buy these is with Gems, however, there are other more F2P options such as watching ads to gain a Dispatcher for a limited amount of time or spending materials for a new permanent Dispatcher once you hit a certain level.
Economize your Keys
Keys are gained by completing Jobs that can then be spent on unlocking Containers which give you new Trains. You have the choice to either unlock a Basic Container for 100 Keys or an Advanced Container for 200 Keys. If you require rarer Trains, as you will do for certain Jobs, then it can be a good idea to prioritize your Keys for the Advanced Containers as these have a higher drop rate for rarer Trains.
In addition, it is good to remember that Containers will only unlock Trains for the latest location that you have unlocked. For the first couple of locations, you will not need a huge amount of Trains to complete them, especially in Britain, and as such you should minimize the number of Keys you use in these locations.
Careful with your Coins and Parts

Coins and Parts are required to upgrade your Trains. In the early locations, such as Britain and Germany, the Trains are relatively cheap to upgrade and it will seem you have plenty of these materials. However, as you progress the upgrade requirements will increase hugely and these will become a prized commodity.
As such, make sure you are not wasting this on upgrading Trains you don’t really need. In addition, take every opportunity you have to increase the number you have. Send your Trains to cities to increase your Gold and watch ads to open Parts boxes or take part in events to win them.
Join an Active Union
As you continue to play TrainStation 2, you will quickly unlock Unions. These are basically clans where you can chat with other players and complete special Jobs and Events in exchange for rewards such as Parts, Containers, Keys, Gems, and more. In addition, there is a special shop where you can spend Union Coins that are gained by completing Union Jobs.
However, you need to make sure that you join an active one. These rewards only open up if you are completing Union Jobs which have high requirements. If you are the only one contributing to these Union Jobs then you will never complete them and get the rewards you are after.
Ship Trading
In your Station, at level 11, you will unlock the Ship Trade building. This allows you to exchange materials for special rewards such as Gems and City Plans. This will be the most consistent place that you have to gain these items without spending money. Completing these trades as often as possible will help you buy premium items with Gems and allow you to upgrade your Buildings in order to increase your Visitor capacity, a vital requirement for upgrading your Warehouse.
Don’t Forget the Events

Another important thing to consider in these TrainStation 2 Tips for Beginners is the in-game events. These are regularly released and are normally accompanied by Tournaments. In the events, a special Location is unlocked where completing Jobs will give you experience, Event Points, and Event Keys.
Event Points will improve your position in Tournaments and also unlock special rewards on the Event Pass at certain milestones. There is also an Event Shop where Event Keys can be spent on things like Parts and unique Trains which will be locked to the latest Location that you have unlocked. Placing well in a Tournament will also earn you Event Coins which can be spent on better items.
Use Codes
The last thing to mention in these TrainStation 2 Tips for Beginners is the codes that can redeemed in exchange for free rewards such as Keys and Gems. This is done by clicking on the Settings button and selecting the Gift Code option. Head to the TrainStation 2 Twitter to see the latest codes that they have published.
