The Alliance Championship (AC) is a team event, unlike Forstfire Mine which is a solo event, that sees 6 Alliances face off against each other in a turn-based tournament across 5 rounds. Although at first appearing simple, this is an event that a lot of Alliances struggle to make work. In this Whiteout Survival Alliance Championship Guide we take a closer look at exactly how the event works and provide specific tips to help you win, upgrade your tier, and maximize rewards.
Table of Contents
Format

The Alliance Championship is a weeklong event that is always rotating. During the event, your Alliance will battle against 5 other alliances of a similar stature one by one. Each battle is conducted in lanes, with members assigning their Troops and Heroes to a left, middle, or right lane to do battle against their opposite number. Winning a lane earns a point for the winning alliance with the Alliance with the most points from the 3 lanes being declared the winner of the match-up.
Sign-up Phase
At server reset, on Monday, the event opens up for Alliance members to register with this sign-up period closing on Wednesday at 23:00 UTC. To register, you must be in an Alliance and be at least Furnace level 10. During this period, members can select whether they want to go in the left, middle, or right lane. At this stage, they will also select the Troops and Heroes they wish to send. As will be covered in more detail later, it is typically recommended to have all members deploy to the middle lane. Alliance leadership can change this up after matchmaking has occurred.
Matchmaking Phase
Following the sign-up phase, the matchmaking phase will begin with alliances requiring at least 10 members to have registered in order to proceed to this stage. Matchmaking begins on Wednesday at 23:00 UTC and ends at 00:00 UTC on Thursday. Here, Alliances will be assigned into groups of 6 similarly tiered alliances in terms of their record in previous Alliance Championships.
Preparation Phase

Next up is the preparation phase where you will have 11 hours to prepare for your opponent. There are 5 preparation phases, with each occurring immediately before each of the 5 battle rounds. In the preparation phase for the 1st battle round, you are not able to see the lanes and their respective power of the opponent. However, in the subsequent preparation phases, for the remaining battle rounds, you will see what your opponent uses in their last round.
During the preparation phase, the R4 and R5 can manage the lanes and move players and their lineups between the left, middle, and right lanes. It is usually recommended to place all your strongest players in 2 of the lanes with the remaining players left in a weak lane. This gives you the best chance of seeing your strong lanes taking the 2 points required to win the battle round. After the 1st battle round, you will be able to see what your next opponent used in their previous round, giving you a better idea of where you may want to place your strongest members. Of course, however, there is no guarantee that they won’t mix things up.
Battle Phase

Immediately after each preparation phase, there is a 1-hour battle phase where the round is resolved. The Alliance that gets at least 2 points from winning 2 lanes is declared the winner. The marches of the 20 most powerful players in each lane take part in the battles. However, there is nothing for players actually to do here with the battle automatically being fought.
The battle starts with the weakest of the 20 in each lane facing their opposite number. If they win, then they go on to face the next weakest of the opposite lane. However, each player is limited to 2 battles in each round, and, therefore, if they win 2 in a row then they are still swapped out for the next weakest player in their alliance’s lane even though they were never defeated. A lane is won if the opposition runs out of members left to do battle.
In the Alliance Championship, Heroes use their Expedition Skills during the battle. In addition, although the event will initially recommend a ratio of 33:33:33 across your Infantry, Lancer, and Marksman Troops, it is better to switch this up. Instead, you want a much greater weight towards Infantry to soak up damage whilst the other 2 Troop Types deal damage. Something like 50:20:30 is often recommended.
Completion Phase
Once all battle rounds have concluded, the completion phase will commence and last 12 hours. This is the final phase where rankings and tiers are determined with rewards paid out based on this.
Ranking and Rewards

During the event, Alliances earn 3 points for each round they win and 0 points for a loss. At the end of the event, all six Alliances are ranked based on their total points from the five battle rounds. Rewards are distributed to members according to this final group ranking.
If two or more Alliances have the same points total, their ranking is determined by the total number of lanes they won throughout the event. Additionally, the rewards you receive are influenced by your current Alliance Championship Tier, higher tiers offer better rewards. Your tier can be upgraded by consistently ranking well in the event and earning Stars. However, you can also fall a tier once you reach the Diamond and Ultimate Tiers.
Finally, KO rewards are given to players who successfully eliminate opposing players during the battles. Please note that you will not receive any rewards if you leave the alliance before the completion of the event.
Ranking Tier Rewards
As discussed in the previous section of this Whiteout Survival Alliance Championship Guide, the rewards you earn for your final alliance ranking in the group will depend on your tier. All Alliances start in the bottom tier and can move up by earning stars. Stars are earned during each Alliance Championship based on your final group ranking. Each tier and their ranking rewards are as follows:

Tips for Winning

This Whiteout Survival Alliance Championship Guide has outlined how the event works and strategies to consider. But what can you do to boost your win rate immediately, beyond simply increasing your power? Below are some actionable tips to help you dominate the Alliance Championship:
- Don’t Get Ratio’d: While the event automatically assigns a Troop ratio of 33:33:33 to your deployment, this isn’t optimal. Adjust it to something like 50:20:30 instead. A stronger Infantry frontline acts as a tank, protecting your Lancers and Marksmen in the backline to maximize their damage output.
- Buff Up Smartly: Activate any buffs you have, or purchase some with Gems, before signing up and deploying your Troops. These include Pet Buffs, Troop Attack buffs, and March Size increases. Note: Buffs only apply if they’re active at the time you deploy your march. Once deployed, they’ll remain in effect even if the buff expires, as long as you don’t make further edits.
- Pick the Right Heroes: Heroes are critical in Alliance Championship battles with their Expedition Skills playing a huge role. Refer to our Hero Guide and PvP Tips to select Heroes with impactful skills for combat. Avoid using Growth Heroes like Gina, whose skills are unrelated to battle. This is a common mistake for newer players, as Gina may be one of their strongest Heroes, don’t fall for it!
- Glory to the Middle: During the sign-up phase, all players should initially deploy to the middle lane. This strategy results in better matchups, as the matchmaking system detects a single powerful lane and two weaker or empty lanes. Leadership can later redistribute players during the preparation phase to optimize lane assignments.
