Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Guide

Just like the Alliance Championship, Crazy Joe is an Alliance Event. However, this time it involves waves of bandits attacking your cities, becoming progressively harder to defend as the waves increase, even your Alliance HQ isn’t safe! For Alliances that can mount a strong defense, there are fantastic rewards up for grabs. In this Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Guide, we’ll break down how the event works and share specific tips and strategies to help your Alliance earn maximum points and claim the best rewards.

Overview

Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Guide

As mentioned earlier in this Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Guide, the event revolves around defending against waves of bandits attacking both individual alliance members and the Alliance HQ. There are 20 waves in total, each progressively more challenging. Players earn points by successfully defending their cities and can gain additional points by reinforcing their allies.

However, be cautious, if you lose two defenses, you’ll be eliminated from the event and won’t face any further waves for additional points. At the end of the event, rewards are distributed based on your Alliance’s ranking compared to others, along with personal rewards tied to individual point milestones. The event occurs on Tuesdays and Thursdays during weeks when Hall of Chiefs, King of Icefield, or State of Power events are active.

Difficulty

Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Guide - Settings

It is the responsibility of the R4s and R5s to register a time for the Crazy Joe event, ensuring that as many players as possible can participate. As part of this setup, they must also select a difficulty level ranging from 1 (easiest) to 21 (hardest). However, there’s an important restriction, your Alliance must have completed the previous difficulty in a prior Crazy Joe event before advancing to the next level. In addition, your Alliance must have meant specific points goal to qualify for each difficulty:

DifficultyPoints
10
212,726,000
313,362,300
413,998,600
514,634,900
615,271,200
716,437,750
817,095,260
917,752,770
1018,410,280
1119,067,790
1220,529,600
1322,454,250
1424,378,900
1526,303,550
1628,228,200
1730,152,850
1832,077,500
1934,002,150
2035,926,800
2137,851,450

Choosing a higher difficulty means facing significantly stronger waves of bandits. Despite this challenge, it’s highly recommended to push for higher difficulty levels whenever possible. Higher difficulties yield more points for defeating bandits, which increases your Alliance’s overall score and boosts your ranking rewards, provided your Alliance can handle the tougher waves!

Waves

In total, Crazy Joe will send out 20 waves of attacks during the event. However, it’s not as straightforward as simply sending 20 attacks to every player—there are some intricacies to consider. Specifically, waves 10 and 20 target the Alliance HQ instead of individual cities, while waves 7, 14, and 17 only attack players who are online. These distinctions create a couple of important scenarios to keep in mind if you want to maximize your points:

  • Reinforcing the HQ: During waves 10 and 20, players must send Troops to the Alliance HQ to reinforce. These attacks are particularly powerful and come with a significant number of points for participants. Alliances often recommend that every player send a limited number of reinforcements to ensure as many players as possible can participate to earn points.
  • Staying Online for Certain Waves: To earn the most points, both individually and as an Alliance, you need to be online during waves 7, 14, and 17. These waves only target online players and offer roughly double the points compared to previous waves. Missing these waves by being offline can significantly reduce your score.

By coordinating reinforcements and ensuring players are online during the critical waves, your Alliance can secure a higher ranking and maximize rewards in Crazy Joe.

Earning Points

Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Win

In this part of the Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Guide, we’ll explore how to earn points during the event. The main ways to gain points are by successfully defending your city or by reinforcing Allies and helping them defeat the attacking bandits. Points are awarded based on the percentage of attackers defeated, with maximum points given for eliminating 100% of a wave. If you only kill 70% of the attackers, for example, you’ll earn 70% of the maximum points for that wave.

It’s important to note, however, that the city owner earns points regardless of whether they personally kill any bandits. For instance, if a player has no Troops in their city but reinforcements from allies defeat 100% of the attackers, the city owner will still receive the maximum points. Meanwhile, the reinforcing players also earn points, calculated based on the proportion of attackers they killed relative to others reinforcing that city. Reinforcers earn points at a rate of 50% of the maximum available to the city owner.

Losing

Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Lose

In Crazy Joe, it is possible to be eliminated from the event if you fail to defend against too many waves. A defense is counted as a defeat if you fail to defeat at least 50% of the attackers, causing your city to burn. If you lose two waves, your participation as a target ends, and Crazy Joe will no longer send waves to your city.

However, being eliminated as a target doesn’t mean you’re out of the event entirely. You can still contribute and earn points by reinforcing your allies. Supporting your teammates becomes crucial at this stage, not only to help them defend their cities but also to maximize your own point gains. So even if your city is no longer under attack, there’s still a significant role you can play to aid your Alliance and boost your rewards.

Rankings and Rewards

Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Personal Rewards

During Crazy Joe, there are 3 ways to earn rewards: Personal Ranking, Alliance Ranking, and Individual Point Milestone Rewards. Rewards in each category improve alongside the age of your State, nevertheless, in the list below we have included a few more details on what you can expect in each reward category and how they are earned.

  • Personal Ranking: Based on your total points during the event versus all other players in your State. Rewards include resources, Polishing Solution, and Hardened Alloy.
  • Alliance Ranking: Based on the total score earned by everyone in your Alliance versus the other Alliances in your State. Rewards include resources, Polishing Solution, and Hardened Alloy. However, these rewards are much lower than the personal rewards.
  • Defense Point Rewards: 10 levels of rewards upon meeting certain personal and Alliance score totals. Rewards are Alliance Tokens.

Exchanging for Max Points

A key strategy for Crazy Joe, aside from ensuring as many players as possible are online, is to exchange Troops with other players. The idea is to leave your city empty of troops while sending all your troops to reinforce your allies’ cities. In return, they send their troops to reinforce your city. This way, your reinforcers can ensure a 100% win for your defenses, earning you maximum points. Meanwhile, your own troops earn additional points by defeating bandits when they are reinforcing other cities.

To make this strategy effective, it’s crucial to coordinate with your teammates in advance. Agree with specific players to exchange Troops so you’re not left undefended. Without reinforcements, an empty city would quickly fall to the bandits, costing you points and putting you at risk of elimination. Proper planning ensures everyone benefits and maximizes their point potential while keeping the Alliance strong.

Final Tips for Winning

By now, you should have a pretty good understanding of how Crazy Joe works and what it takes to score well. Nevertheless, let’s cover a few final tips in this Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Guide to help you rank high!

  • Keep your Best Heroes at home to defend and ensure they are set as your Defense Heroes on the barricade. These Heroes will use their skills to significantly help any players who reinforce you. It is also worth noting that during city defense, Heroes make use of their Expedition Skills so make sure not to leave any growth Heroes in this role such as Zinman.
  • Activate any buffs you have if you know you are going to struggle to 100% any waves. Likewise, if no one sends you any reinforcements, make sure you have enough Troops at home to remain in the event.
  • If you see you are starting to struggle against the waves, ask in Alliance Chat for help. There will normally be someone who is already out or with Troops to spare that can send some your way.
  • If you are the Alliance R4 or R5, make sure you have coordinated with everyone to set a time for the event. It is absolutely crucial to have as many players online to maximize your Alliance ranking.
  • In the lower levels of Crazy Joe, Infantry Troops typically secure the majority of kills. This is because of the turn-based battle mechanics in Whiteout Survival, where Infantry engage first. If their stats are high enough, or if you have a large number of them, they can often defeat all the bandits before Lancers or Marksmen have a chance to attack. As a result, it’s a good strategy to focus on sending Infantry when reinforcing other cities. Since they’ll be at the front of the battle, they have the best chance to land the kills and maximize your points.
  • Please note, that using a Shield during the event will not stop Crazy Joe from attacking your city. Only losing 2 defenses or Teleporting will see you avoid waves.
  • Remember to reinforce the Alliance HQ on waves 10 and 20. In addition, remember to recall them after wave 10 to start reinforcing other cities again. In addition to this, ensure your lead Hero is one with a strong defense skill as their first Expedition Skill, such as Sergey. Please read our Hero Guide and PvP Tips for more details on why Expedition Skill 1, for your lead Hero, is so important.
  • Try not to reinforce cities with many there already. This will reduce the number of points you can earn as you will be competing against the other reinforcers for kills.
  • Do not heal your Troops during the event, as any troops you heal will return to your city, taking kills away from those reinforcing you, which reduces the maximum points they can earn.
