Flame and Fangs is a great little Whiteout Survival PvE event that sees you taking down Beasts, rescuing survivors, and completing Explorations, via Intel Missions to earn Crystallite Cores. These can then be exchanged for items such as Fire Crystals and Speedups. This offers great value as, if you have followed our Tips for Beginners, you will complete all your Intel Missions every day. Keep reading this Whiteout Survival Flame and Fangs Guide as we explore exactly how this event works, the rewards you can earn, and provide some specific tips for earning a few extra Crystallite Cores.

When is Flame and Fangs?
The Flame and Fangs event occurs every 2 weeks and lasts for 2 days. Specifically, it runs on a Monday and Tuesday during weeks where you have a new State of Power or King of Icefield event.
Crystallite Cores & Intel Missions

As discussed in the introduction of this Whiteout Survival Flame and Fangs Guide, Crystallite Cores are the key item you must accumulate in this event to get rewards. The standard way to get these is by completing your regular Lighthouse Intel Missions for 1 Crystallite Core each. In addition to this, you will also encounter a new special Firebeasts Intel Mission during the event which grants a massive 10 Crystallite Cores. However, do note, Crystallite Cores will not be earned from Bounty Intel Missions.
Intel Missions refresh 3 times a day at 00:00, 08:00, and 16:00 server time. With each refresh, you will get a set of 8 new Intel Missions and 2 new Firebeasts. As such, with each refresh you are able to earn 84 Crystallite Cores. Across the 2-day event, and if you complete all Intel Missions in each refresh, you will therefore be able to accumulate a total of 168 Crystallite Cores. However, as will be covered in our Flame and Fangs Tips further on in this Whiteout Survival Guide, there is one easy trick you can use to increase this to 184 Crystallite Cores.
Rewards

Any Crystallite Cores that you earn during the event can be spent in the Flame and Fangs event interface for specific rewards. Although there is a maximum amount of each item you can buy, these offer great value considering they are accumulated by just doing your regular Intel Missions. The items you can buy, their cost, and the maximum amount, are outlined in the table below:
| Item | Crystallite Cores | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Refined Fire Crystal | 20 | 2 |
| Fire Crystals x5 | 5 | 6 |
| 1h Research Speedup x2 | 4 | 5 |
| 1h Construction Speedup x2 | 4 | 5 |
| 1h Training Speedup x2 | 4 | 5 |
| 10K Hero EXP x1 | 3 | 15 |
| 1M Meat | 1 | 30 |
| 1M Wood | 1 | 30 |
| 100K Coal | 1 | 30 |
| 10K Iron | 1 | 30 |
To unlock Refined Fire Crystals, your State must have unlocked FC6. In addition, please note, any Crystallite Cores that you do not use during the event will be exchanged for 10K Meat each at the end of the event. Make sure to avoid this!
Tip for Earning More Crystallite Cores
As outlined earlier in this Flame and Fangs Guide; by simply completing all your Intel Missions during the event, you will earn 168 Crystallite Cores. However, there is a simple trick you can use to increase this to 184 Crystallite Cores which will be a great help in unlocking more useful rewards. To do this, the day before the event, complete all the 08:00 refresh Intell Missions but do not collect them. When the event begins at 00:00 you can then collect them and earn 1 Crystallite Core for each one. In addition, you will then get your Intel Missions for the 16:00 refresh that you did not do for 1 Crystallite Core each too. This sees you complete an extra 16 Intel Missions during the event for an extra 16 Crystallite Cores.
Unfortunately, even with this trick you will be unable to unlock all the items available in Flame and Fangs. Indeed, to get them all, you would need 295 Crystallite Cores, and excluding Refined Fire Crystals you would still need 255 Crystallite Cores. Therefore, it is a good idea to prioritize a few of the items in particular. We recommend focusing on Refined Fire Crystals, Fire Crystals, and Speedups. Anything leftover should be spent on resources. The Hero EXP is simply not worth it.
