Whiteout Survival Gina’s Revenge Guide: Max Your Gina Shards

In Whiteout Survival, Gina’s Revenge is one of the first events you will experience, and as mentioned in our Tips for Beginners, it is absolutely vital to take part. Indeed, not only is it a great source of Gina Shards, but it also offers some great resources, General EXP, and Speedups as rewards. In this Whiteout Survival Gina’s Revenge Guide, we go over everything you need to know about making the most of this event, such as maximizing the shards you gain, and much more.

Event Overview

As touched on in the introduction of this Whiteout Survival Gina’s Revenge Guide, this event is the only to get Hero Shards for Gina and is therefore the only way to unlock her. Gina is a great Hero to have on your roster due to her first Expedition Skill, Endurance Training, which reduces your stamina consumption when attacking Beasts and Polar Terrors by up to 20%. This is a huge saving making her a must-have for all players and due to the ease with which she can be unlocked and upgraded. As a result, she is also firmly on our list of the Best Heroes for F2P Players.

To gain Gina Shards you must attack a special event-only beast called the Berserk Cryptid. It is relatively weak at only 8,100 power, making it super easy to take down, even for the newest of players. You can find Berserk Cryptids to attack by using a special item called the Horn of the Cryptid. Keep reading the next sections of this Whiteout Survival Gina’s Revenge Guide as we go into all of this in a lot more detail.

Attacking the Berserk Cryptid

Whiteout Survival Gina's Revenge Guide - Berserk Cryptid

Using a Horn of the Cryptid item will instantly summon a Berserk Cryptid for you on the state map. Once summoned, you have 90 minutes to defeat it before it disappears. It can only be attacked via rallies, allowing your Alliance members to also join the attack for rewards. Unfortunately, starting the rally does cost 25 stamina so you will need a good supply of this to ensure you are able to attack as many as possible during the event. However, ally members can also rally your Berserk Cryptids for you, but, be warned, the rewards from joining a rally are much lower than those for starting it.

How to Get Horn of the Cryptid

Whiteout Survival Gina's Revenge Guide - Horn of the Cryptid

To get a Horn of the Cryptid item you must attack Beasts on the state map. Each one you defeat has a high chance of dropping one. There is no limit to the amount you can find during the event and they will not disappear after the event has ended so do not worry if you feel you have more than you can use. Indeed, you can continue to summon Berserk Cryptids using Horn of the Cryptids even after the event has ended.

Hunter Pouch

In addition to Horn of the Cryptids, you also have a chance of finding the Hunter Pouch item by defeating Beasts while the Gina’s Revenge event is running. When opened you have the chance to obtain the following items:

ItemChance
100 Gems x120%
10 Gems x(1-3)50%
10 Chief Stamina x115%
5m General Speedup x(1-2)100%
1k Hero XP x1100%

Accumulating Gina Shards

Now that we understand the basic mechanics of the event, where exactly are all the different sources of Gina Shards during it and how many Shards does each give? Find out in the sections below!

Starting Rallies

This is the best way to gain Gina Shards. Simply start a rally against a Berserk Cryptid and upon defeating it you will receive 2-4 Gina Shards. In addition to this, you will also gain:

  • 5x 1k Hero EXP
  • 10 x 1m General Speedup
  • 150k Meat
  • 150k Wood
  • 30k Coal
  • 7.5k Iron

Joining Rallies

Next up, you can also gain Gina Shards by joining the Berserk Cryptid rallies of other players in your Alliance. And, even better, this costs you no stamina. Unfortunately, however, you can only gain rewards from 50 of these a day. Each successful rally here has a chance of rewarding you with 1 Gina Shard as well as the below rewards:

  • 1x 1k Hero EXP
  • 1-2 x 1m General Speedup
  • 15k Meat
  • 15k Wood
  • 3k Coal
  • 750k Iron

Event Missions

Whiteout Survival Gina's Revenge Guide - Mission

During the Whiteout Survival Gina’s Revenge event, there is also an easy mission you can complete for a small reward of Gina Shards. All this requires you to do is call 10 Berserk Cryptid rallies while the event is running and you are rewarded with 10 Gina Shards.

Hero’s Mission

Upon reaching Hero Generation 4, during the Hero’s Mission Event, you can exchange any Horn of the Cryptid items you have for Gina Shards. These are exchanged at a rate of 1 for 1.

Horn of the Cryptid Exchange

Once you have fully ascended Gina to her max star level, you gain access to the Cryptid Exchange. Here you can exchange any Horn of the Cryptid items you have for the Hunter Pouch item. However, this is typically not recommended as the resource rewards from defeating Berserk Cryptids outweigh the low-value return of Hunter Pouches. Only really do this if you are desperate for stamina.

Gina’s Revenge Tips

  • Unlock Gina as soon as you can and then immediately start using her to rally the Berserk Cryptid bosses and any other Beasts or Polar Terrors you attack while playing the game. This will grant you a huge stamina saving and we go into this concept in more detail in Whiteout Survival Tips for Beginners.
  • Continue to rally Berserk Cryptids outside of the event if you have an excess of Horn of the Cryptids. They are a great source of resources for upgrading your buildings, especially in the early game when costs are lower and the rewards from low-level Beasts and Polar Terrors are not great.
  • Turn on Auto Join Rallies so that you keep joining the rallies of your allies against Berserk Crytpids. Although the rate of Gina shards is lower from joining rallies, it costs no stamina and will accumulate while offline too. You get rewards from up to 50 Berserk Crytpid rallies you join a day.
  • Save up your stamina in the lead-up to this event to ensure you are able to accumulate a large number of Horn of the Cryptid items from Beasts while the event is running.
  • Finally, some players prefer to only kill Beasts during Gina’s Revenge and then start defeating the Berserk Cryptids once the event is over. The idea is that this offers the best reward in terms of stamina expense. Although you will miss out on the 10 Gina Shard mission rewards, the number of Horn of the Cryptid items you will have accumulated will far outweigh this along with the extra resources you will gain with each rally.
