In Whiteout Survival, the Lucky Wheel is a regular event that allows players a chance to obtain a specific Hero during each Generation. As outlined in our Tips for Beginners and list of the Best Heroes for F2P Players, this forms a core strategy for those who don’t want to spend money on the game. Indeed, if you play it right, then you can spin the wheel enough in each Generation to 5 Star the Hero and max out their skills. In this Whiteout Survival Lucky Wheel Guide, we outline exactly what you can get from the wheel in each Generation, how many spins you should do, and more.
Table of Contents
Lucky Wheel Heroes

As mentioned in the introduction of this Whiteout Survival Lucky Wheel Guide, there is a new Hero available to be won in the wheel with each new Generation. The Heroes available from the Lucky Wheel in each Generation are as follows:
| Generation | Hero | Class |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Zinman | Marksman |
| 2 | Flint | Infantry |
| 3 | Mia | Lancer |
| 4 | Lynn | Marksman |
| 5 | Hector | Infantry |
| 6 | Renee | Lancer |
| 7 | Bradley | Marksman |
| 8 | Gatot | Infantry |
| 9 | Fred | Lancer |
| 10 | Blanchette | Marksman |
Aside from Generation 1 (which lasts 40 days), each Generation lasts about 80 days. During this time, the Lucky Wheel should occur every 2 weeks at the same time as your State’s Hall of Chiefs, State of Power, or King of Icefield events from Tuesday to Thursday. Therefore, you can expect to see about 6 Lucky Wheels in every Generation, giving you plenty of time to get the relevant Heroes.
Spinning Cost
Each time that the Lucky Wheel event occurs, it lasts for 3 days with a free spin granted each day. If the Lucky Wheel overlaps with the State of Power event, then you will also get 5 free spins on day 2 (Tuesday) for hitting your milestone rewards. Any additional spins on top of this will cost 1,500 Gems for 1 spin or 13,500 for 10 spins at once. It is therefore clearly better to do 10 at once when you can. As will be made clear in the next section, you want to spin the Lucky Wheel 120 times while the event is running. This will cost you a total of 159,000 Gems per instance, or 954,000 to max out every wheel per Generation. Make sure to check out our Gem Guide to help you in achieving this significant number.
Spin Rewards

Each time you spin the Lucky Wheel, you have a small chance to win a number of different items. These are outlined in the table below with Hero Shards corresponding to the appropriate Generations Lucky Wheel Hero.
| Reward | Chance |
|---|---|
| Hero Shards x5 | 4.37% |
| Hero Shards x1 | 32.81% |
| Mystery Pack x1* | 6.56% |
| Mystery Pack x1* | 6.56% |
| 1h Speedup x1 | 20.51% |
| 10K Hero EXP x1 | 18.27% |
| 10K Iron x20 | 2.73% |
| 10K Coal x80 | 2.73% |
| 10K Meat x400 | 2.73% |
| 10K Wood x400 | 2.73% |
*Please note that Mystery Packs when opened have a chance to reward one of the following: Mythic Exploration Manual x2-4, Mythic Expedition Manual x2-4, 10K Hero EXP x5, 1h Training Speedup x2-5, 1h Research Speedup x2-5, or 1h Construction Speedup x2-5.
Milestone Rewards
As mentioned earlier in this Whiteout Survival Lucky Wheel Guide, you want to spin the wheel 120 times with each event instance. This is due to milestone rewards that max out at 120 spins. After this point, the Gem cost becomes no longer worth it and you are better off saving your Gems for the next Lucky Wheel. The milestone rewards are as follows with Hero Shards again corresponding to the relevant Hero of your current Generation.
| Spins | Rewards |
|---|---|
| 5 | Hero Shard x5 Mythic Exploration Manual x5 Mythic Expedition Manual x5 |
| 15 | Hero Shard x10 Mythic Exploration Manual x10 Mythic Expedition Manual x10 |
| 35 | Hero Shard x20 Mythic Exploration Manual x20 Mythic Expedition Manual x20 |
| 70 | Hero Shard x30 Mythic Exploration Manual x30 Mythic Expedition Manual x30 |
| 120 | Hero Shard x50 Mythic Exploration Manual x50 Mythic Expedition Manual x50 |
Maxing a Hero
As outlined in our Whiteout Survival Hero Guide, to fully max out a Hero, you will need 1,075 Shards. With 6 Lucky Wheels per Generation, this is very achievable but will come at a significant Gem cost. Indeed, with each instance of the Lucky Wheel, and assuming you max it out, the expected return from 120 spins is 180 Shards. Over 6 instances of the event, this is an expected return of 1,083 Shards, just getting you over the line to max out the Hero.
However, for F2P players it is typically recommended to only go to 4 Stars per Lucky Wheel Hero. As outlined in our Hero Guide, this is the point at which you can max out their Exploration and Expedition Skills, with the 5th Star not adding as much value. You are better off saving your Gems, which would have otherwise been spent on more spins, for other activities such as increasing your VIP. Getting to 4 Stars costs a fraction of 5 Stars at only 475 Shards. This should be achievable over 3 Lucky Wheels.
