Everyone can play Bitlife for free but with the caveat that you will have A LOT of ads thrown at you. In addition, although the base game is tonnes of fun, even with the ads, there are a plethora of expansions you can purchase to improve your game experience even further. This includes things such as adding more jobs into the game, new ways to get rich quickly, a special Assassin’s Blade to ensure you always get away with murder, and much much more. We have spent a lot of time, and probably a bit too much money, trying out all these Bitlife add-ons and expansions to bring you our OneChilledGamer list of all the best ones that you should buy!

Bitizenship
The first thing you will notice as a new player of Bitlife is the constant interruption of ads as you take actions. This gets old very fast, and, although there are several ways to remove Bitlife ads, by far the easiest way is to buy Bitizenship. Indeed, for this alone, most people consider this to be the best value add-on you can buy for Bitlife.
However, it gets better with several other perks thrown in to make this purchase even better. The best of these, in our opinion, is the ability to continue playing with your children after death. The free version only allows you to continue your generation once, and if like us you enjoy building a dynasty, then this is a great additional perk. Further to this, Bitizenship will bring all the below benefits:

- More options for pets
- In-game only social media
- More interactions with teachers and bosses
- Ability to join prison gangs
- Dark mode
- Hire hitmen
- Change your appearance
Boss Mode
One thing you will quickly discover as you do a few play-throughs is that as a free player, the variety of jobs you have access to is actually quite small. For example, you are unable to become an Actor, Astronaut, Politician, Pro Athlete, and many others. Unfortunately, these are some of the most interesting jobs to do in the game and therefore you will likely start to look at the various job packs that you can buy.
Each job pack targets a specific job and can be bought pretty cheaply. However, once you’ve achieved success in that career a couple of times you will probably want to try another one but of course, this will mean buying another job pack for that specific job. Thankfully, there is the option to buy the Boss Mode pack which is easily another of the best Bitlife add-ons that you can buy.
This grants you access to all the currently available job packs and any future ones added to the game. However, it should be noted that this does not give you access to the Landlord or Investor Expansion packs which does seem a little unfair! Despite this, it still represents great value for anyone looking to expand their options.
God Mode
With Bitlife God Mode you can customize any new life that you start and continue to customize the save as you play in endless ways. For example, maybe you think you need to be smarter, better-looking, or even part of a royal family, then just simply change it all with God Mode.
It also allows you to add your own favorite sports teams into the game which, when combined with Boss Mode, could see you one day playing for your IRL local team. However, perhaps the best thing of all is the ability to change any NPC you interact with, for example, that teacher you hate or that boss who is giving you hell. For anyone looking to buy multiple of the best Bitlife expansions then you can bundle God Mode up with Bitizenship for a really great deal.
Challenge Vault
Next up in this list of the Best Bitlife Add-ons and Expansions has to be the Challenge Vault. Whilst challenges are normally only open for a few days, the Challenge Vault gives you access to a huge collection of the best hits since the game was launched. Not only this, but this means you have unlimited time to complete them for their rewards and perhaps even earn yourself the exclusive Superstar Bitlife Mode once you have completed 100 challenges.
Owning this expansion adds a lot to your experience with that extra target of something to achieve. Trying to complete the various Achievements and Ribbons is a lot of fun too but these don’t have the associated rewards or the lure of seeing yourself on the global leaderboards like Challenges do.
Time Machine
Ever prematurely died in Bitlife with no children and seen your dynasty collapse? Or perhaps lost your dream job after a rash interaction with your boss? Then the Time Machine add-on could be exactly what you are looking for. This allows you to travel back in time by 1, 3, or 5 years to unwind any bad decisions you made. That would be great in real too, right?
This is one of the more expensive Bitlife expansions but if you are really going after a specific challenge in one of your playthroughs, or are extremely attached to your generation of characters, then this could be a real Bitlife lifesaver! Alternatively, you can purchase single-use Time Machines for a small fee, but this will build up quickly.
Landlord Expansions
As mentioned in our discussion of the Boss Mode Add-on, if you want to become a property magnate then you will need the Landlord Expansion. This is one of the best ways to create generational wealth in Bitlife as all your property is passed on to your heirs alongside any rental income they are earning. Property, I guess like in real life, also just tends to go up and up in Bitlife as time goes on. Indeed, if you start buying property early and renting it out, in just a couple of generations you will begin to see a fabulously wealthy dynasty taking hold. It also gives you more ways to customize your property and buy even more exclusive homes.
