Best Xbox One Game Remasters of 2020

Games studios have definitely caught on to the fact that the millennial generation now has some spending power and this year they have been releasing some really great game remasters on the Xbox One. Of course, it is nothing new, with the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy Xbox One game remasters both dropping in 2018. However, it is obvious that 2020 has brought it to the next level. With us all locked up at home, it was the perfect time to go back to our childhoods and put some serious time into these classic Xbox One game remasters. Keep reading for what we thought were the best Xbox One game remasters of 2020.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2

These classic games were originally released on the PlayStation back in 1999 and 2000 and they have defined the skateboarding genre ever since. The 2020 Xbox One remasters do a brilliant job of updating the originals whilst also staying true to their origins. The graphics are brought right up to date, new skaters have been included (including Tony Hawk’s son!), a few more bands have been added to the classic soundtrack and, perhaps best of all, they have added online multiplayer with some very competitive leader boards. You can also create your own parks and share them with your friends. Check out our list of the best real world custom maps currently released. If you haven’t yet picked up this remaster of Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 + 2 then get it here. Watch the video below to see Tony Hawk skating a real life version of the Warehouse map.

Mafia: Definitive Edition

The original Mafia was released in 2002 with players taking on the role Tommy Angelo. In this biopic, you track the rise and fall of this taxi driver / mobster as he navigates the seedy underworld of Lost Haven during the 1930s prohibition. Tommy is controlled in third person as the player navigates a range of action-packed missions around the city. The Xbox One game remaster was released in September 2020 under the title of Mafia: Definitive Edition. This remaster went further than the other Xbox One game remasters listed on this page. The remaster not only brought the graphics right up to date, but also expanded the story significantly. It also added more open world activities and improved the controls. If you haven’t got it yet, then you can pick it up here and see what all the hype is about yourself.

Resident Evil 3

This Xbox One game remaster is based on the third person shooter, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. The original was released way back in 1999. In the game, players alternate between two characters, Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira, as they battle to survive a zombie apocalypse. The Xbox One game remaster gives the graphics a complete 2020 makeover whilst adding some new elements such as an online multiplayer game mode. In this game mode, you team up with three other players to battle against a “Mastermind”. The Mastermind sets traps and sends waves of enemies to try and defeat you. If you still haven’t tried out this remaster of Resident Evil 3, then you can pick it up here and for more convincing check out the trailer below.

Saints Row The Third Remastered

Saints Row The Third Remastered represents the most recent game to be remastered in our list. Originally released in 2011, for the previous generation of games consoles, this remaster is an honest remake. Nothing has been changed in terms of the story. All the graphics have been updated and the release comes with all the extra downloadable content included. If you have not yet got this remaster for your console, then you can pick it up here.

Let us know if you’ve played any of the games above and what you thought of them. Think we’ve missed out any other great 2020 Xbox One game remasters then post them below!
