The Leadjoy M1B iPhone Controller arrives in an exclusive-looking sleek black box that is well-protected to ensure the controller is not damaged in transit. Upon opening the box you are greeted with the classic extendible mobile controller look that we have all grown accustomed to.
When first handling the controller, before fitting it to your iPhone, it does feel a little flimsy when fully extended out. Indeed, without a case, I would have some concerns about leaving this in the bottom of my bag when traveling around. However, once you have fitted your iPhone into the controller, with the included rubber cushion, it feels very secure.
The controller also features all the buttons you would expect on a classic console controller giving huge versatility in your actions versus the standard mobile gaming set-up. It also has a button specifically for capturing videos and screenshots ensuring you won’t miss an opportunity to capture any of your epic moments in Genshin Impact.
For power, the Leadjoy M1B supports passthrough charging with a Lightning Port on the bottom of the righthand side of the controller. With this, you can easily keep your phone’s power up, a constant issue with mobile gaming. However, there are a couple of drawbacks to the controller that you should be aware of. Firstly, is the lack of an audio port for wired headphones. Secondly, it feels a little fiddly when trying to secure your iPhone into the Lightning connection. You, therefore, need to be a little careful when plugging it in so you don’t accidentally drop it. It would have been best if the lightning port rotated so you didn’t have to extend the controller and plug in the phone at the same time.

To test the Leadjoy M1B iPhone Controller we sunk several hours into Genshin Impact, Diablo Immortal, and Asphalt 9 and it performed great! All the buttons have a nice mechanical feel to them ensuring you actually know that a button has been clicked.
Also, as you’d expect with a hard connection we experienced no latency issues at all. Lastly, although the extendable arm feels a little flimsy when fully extended, with your iPhone clamped in, it feels rock solid. Not once did we feel like our iPhone was going to fall out while thrashing around the track in Asphalt 9.
