In Survivor.io, there is a huge amount of Equipment that you can equip your Survivor with before starting a battle. However, this is just half the story of how well you will do. The other half will depend on the Skills you pick up during the battle. In this Survivor.io Skill Guide, we take a look at all the different Skills available, how to upgrade them, when to use them, and more!

What are Skills in Survivor.io
Skills are a huge part of every battle in Survivor.io. They are essentially special attacks (Active Skills) or passive buffs (Passive Skills) that are granted to your Survivor when they level up, after collecting energy from fallen enemies, or from the chests that are dropped by defeated bosses. In total, you are allowed to have a maximum of 6 Active Skills and 6 Passive Skills during a battle.
Although there is some RNG involved in which Skills you will end up with, having a clear idea as to those you prefer will certainly help guide your decision. In this Survivor.io Skill Guide, we will go over everything you need to know so as to make this decision easier in the heat of battle.
How to get Skills in Survivor.io
When you start the battle, you begin with 1 Active Skill related to your Weapon. Further Skills are gained either by leveling up your Survivor during a battle by collecting the energy dropped by fallen enemies or as loot from the chests dropped by defeated bosses. However, each of these has a slightly different mechanic in terms of what Skills you get:
- Leveling your Survivor: each time you level you will get a choice of 3 random skills. You get to choose one to add to your Survivor.
- Chests: when you loot a chest, you will be rewarded either 1,3, or 5 skills at random to be added to your Survivor.
As already mentioned, you are allowed to have a maximum of 6 Active Skills and 6 Passive Skills during battle. Once you have reached the limit (and maxed their levels), you will instead get Gold as a reward from leveling and from chests.
How to Upgrade Skills in Survivor.io
Each time you gain a Skill during battle, it starts off at level 1 and has a pretty basic/weak effect. However, you are able to level each Skill up to make them much more powerful. To do this, you simply need to select Skills you already have when leveling your Survivor or gain duplicates from the RNG in the chests.
The max level of a Skill depends on whether it is a Passive Skill or an Active Skill. Passive Skills can go up to a maximum level of 5, whilst Active Skills can go up to a maximum level of 6. Level 6 is also known as Evo and at this point, it evolves into a new version of itself with much more powerful abilities.
However, to get an Active Skill up to its Evo level, you must meet one further requirement. Indeed, for each Active Skill, there is a corresponding Passive Skill that you must have at level 1 in order to be able to move the Active Skill from level 5 to Evo. This is covered later on in this Survivor.io Skill Guide. However, it is shown in the game when selecting a Passive Skill what Active Skill it helps you Evo.
Survivor.io Skills List
As already mentioned, during battle you are able to accumulate a total of 6 Active Skills and 6 Passive Skills. Once you have picked one, you are able to level it by increasing the level of your Survivor or by finding chests. In the following sections of this Survivor.io Skill Guide, we outline all the different skills you can get, along with their buffs as you level them.
Survivor.io Active Skills
The table below shows all the different Active Skills you can get during battle. Numbers 1 to 5 show the new damage that the skill does at each level as well as how many items the Skill utilizes. The Skill item is represented by the letter in the square brackets. Please note that the attack represents a multiplier of your Survivors base attack. Check out our Survivor Guide for more information on this.
Evo shows the new damage done and items utilized at its final Evo level where it evolves into a more extreme version of itself for example with much greater speed, size, and shorter cooldown. The new Evo Skill item is represented by the bolded letters inside the square brackets.
