Best Clash Royale Decks for Sudden Death

Clash Royale Sudden Death is inspired by the Overtime mechanic and works exactly the same way. That is, the first to take down a tower is declared the winner, with the Elixir rate doubled from the start, and tripled in overtime. As such, the Best Clash Royale Decks for Sudden Death are made up of those that see you going all from the get-go to supply severe pressure.

This is quite different from the Best Double Elixir Decks, where heavy decks are prioritized, and actually sees a mix between Fast Cycle Decks and Decks over 4.0 Elixir, depending on your preferred style. Now, without further ado, let’s get into the list of the Best Clash Royale Decks for the Sudden Death challenge.

Mighty Miner Firecracker Hog (2.9 Elixir)

Best Clash Royale Decks for Sudden Death - Mighty Miner Firecracker Hog (2.9 Elixir)

A slightly advanced version of the 2.6 Hog Cycle, which is one of the Best Fast Cycle Decks in Clash Royale, this deck aims to cover every aspect of a deck at an extremely low elixir average. The Mighty Miner not only acts as the tank of the deck but also is capable of draining the health of any ground troop. This trait of his gives a huge boost to the deck’s defensive capabilities.

Alongside the Mighty Miner, use the Bomb Tower’s services to distract the tower-targeting hitters. See the table below for all the cards that make up this deck, along with their Elixir cost, and what arena level they become unlocked at.

Mighty Miner417
Firecracker312
Hog Rider45
Goblins21
Ice Spirit18
Bomb Tower44
Log211
Earthquake312

As far as the offense is concerned, you have the Hog Rider to rush in towards the tower followed by some handy supportive units to back him. In particular, you can use Earthquake to clear any swarms that the opponent plays in an attempt to take out your Hog Rider. When it comes to defending against heavy troops, look to your Mighty Miner as he can make the difference in one of these battles.

On the downside, this deck does lack in terms of air defense and will be highly vulnerable to Lavahound and Balloon decks. Hence, play this deck in such a way that you give no time for the opponent to build up a heavy air push. Since the focus is on the Sudden Death challenge, you should be able to cycle the Hog and others faster than your opponent.

Skeleton King Royal Giant Mother Witch (3.8 Elixir)

Best Clash Royale Decks for Sudden Death - Skeleton King Royal Giant Mother Witch (3.8 Elixir)

The second deck in our list is perhaps the best one of the lot, but it requires precise timing – especially when using the Fisherman. Quickly placing a Royal Giant at the front piles up a lot of pressure on the opponent, and is a good strategy to force the opponent on placing his best counter. See the table below for all the cards that make up this deck, along with their Elixir cost, and what arena level they become unlocked at.

Mother Witch415
Fisherman315
Zappies410
Tombstone32
Log211
Fireball4N/A

To master this deck, all you have to do is to protect the Royal Giant with the help of the Fisherman. For instance, if the opponent places a P.E.K.K.A to counter the Royal Giant, place the Fisherman behind the Royal Giant so that it pulls the P.E.K.K.A towards it, thus saving the Royal Giant from huge blows and allowing it to last longer.

In cases where the opponent deploys a swarm card to counter the Royal Giant, use the Log to clear them out or the Mother Witch to apply further pressure toward your opponent’s tower. Defending your towers is not much of a challenge with respect to this deck. The Skeleton King, along with his ability can take down a number of cards single-handedly, except for cards like the Mega Knight that deal severe splash damage.

The Tombstone can be placed in between your towers to distract the tower hitters from their line of sight. Zappies are extraordinarily good when they are used at the right time – such as stopping a Ram Rider, forcing troops to move slower than usual, resetting the damage output by a Mighty Miner or an Inferno Dragon, and preventing the Sparky from ever blasting its lightning bolt.

Log Bait (3.3 Elixir)

Best Clash Royale Decks for Sudden Death - Log Bait (3.3 Elixir)

The Log Bait deck is something you should choose if spamming cards is your thing. The Log Bait deck only has two cards that cost above 5 Elixir, and since you would use this deck in a Sudden Death challenge, it makes cycling cards easy. There is no particular strategy while using this deck, although you can cycle the Rocket spell to damage the towers more often. See the table below for all the cards that make up this deck, along with their Elixir cost, and what arena level they become unlocked at.

CardElixirArena
Goblin Gang39
Goblin Barrel36
Princess311
Knight3N/A
Ice Spirit18
Inferno Tower54
Log211
Rocket65

For offense, your primary goal is to chip damage. Since the deck does not contain any tower-hitter or a tank to push with, you have to cycle among the Princess, Goblin Barrel, and Goblin Gang. To gain a possible edge over your opponent, try to trigger the Log spell from your opponent. Once triggered, instantly use the Goblin Barrel and watch them deal tons of damage to the tower.

The strategy does not change while defending. Keep spamming the cards and place the Inferno Tower to prevent incoming troops from engaging with your support units. At times, you can also save the Rocket to destroy a Sparky, which can lead to a devastating push if left as it is. The Knight stands out as the best mini tank for its ability to withstand utmost pressure for longer periods. Use this time to rotate among your cards and pull out another Knight for defense.

Double Elixir Mega Night Spawn (4.4 Elixir)

Best Clash Royale Decks for Sudden Death - Double Elixir Mega Night Spawn (4.4 Elixir)

The Double Elixir Mega Knight Spawn deck is stacked with incredible support units to assist the Mega Knight at all times. There are not one, but two buildings that can chip damage to the towers if left unnoticed whilst also acting as a distraction to tower-hitters at the same time. See the table below for all the cards that make up this deck, along with their Elixir cost, and what arena level they become unlocked at.

CardElixirArena
Mega Knight711
Cannon Cart515
Flying Machine45
Barbarian Barrel29
Mother Witch415
Goblin Hut51
Furnace410
Fireball4N/A

You can go all in with this deck, as it contains a variety of support units to push with. Starting with the Mega Knight at the back will give you enough time to build up a monumental push. To further apply pressure to the opponent, deploy the Mother Witch behind the Mega Knight to spawn a Royal Hog every time she eliminates a troop. The only concern in the deck would be its average, but if you are able to apply pressure from time to time, it will not affect you.

The deck is filled with more than sufficient cards to back you up in defense and offense. And when defense is concerned, the Cannon Cart is a power-hitter and is an effective card against heavy troops. The Flying Machine is no less dangerous than the Cannon Cart; it strikes every air troop that comes its way. These two form a powerful wall to defend against anything. If that is not enough, drop the Mega Knight and it should be just enough to push for a counter-attack as well.
