Are Archers Good in Clash Royale?

Clash Royale Archers Guide

Archers are a simple but effective card that do not require much of an explanation. At a cost of just 3-elixir that are seen across many different decks as a cheap option for defense and taking out air troops. Indeed, with their bows and arrows, the Archers can take down any incoming swarms with ease and can also deal a convincing amount of damage to cards such as the Elite Barbarians, Night Witch, and other single-target cards.

The Archers can fit in almost any deck, although not many would opt for them due to the likes of splash damage cards that contribute more to a player’s strategy and can take down the Archers with ease. However, strategies that usually require a deck averaging below 3.2 or further down fit excellently with the Archers due to their low cost. To make the most of the evolved Archers, place a mini-tank in front of them to allow them to stay in the Power Shot range while facing their opponents. The Archers evolution requires 2 cycles to deploy.

Tips to Use Archers in Clash Royale

Next in this Clash Royale Archers Guide let’s take a look at some tips and strategies you can implement to make the most of this card.

  • Support: Since the Archers do not boast a good health bar, it is essential to back them up well so that they can freely damage the enemy troops from behind. The Knight, Mega Knight, and similar tanks work well with the Archers.
  • Split the Two: Archers come in two and can easily be taken down by a high-level Log, Fireball, and other spells. When there are no moves being played by either player, place the Archers in the middle, or behind the King tower. This way, the Archers will split and bring in a sign of confusion to your opponent, as they now have no idea about which tower you may target. Use this split to your advantage and execute a Bridge Spam strategy.
  • Defend both Crown Towers: Archers can defend both towers when placed in the middle. In the instance of a swarm of troops approaching from both lanes, they can comfortably take them down together. Although, this does require proper positioning and timing as there are incidents when the Archers might end up defending one tower alone, leaving the other one exposed to incoming troops. Practice the deployment of the Archers at the right spot and you should be good to go.
