Clash Royale Spear Goblins Guide

Spear Goblins are a ranged card type that launch their spears at the enemy. Although this does give them some advantage, like most Goblns, they do come with a poor combination of low health and low damage that sees them rarely used in higher-tier decks. In this Clash Royale Guide, let us observe and discuss the positives that can be pulled from this weak card in order to maximize their usability.

Is Spear Goblins Good in Clash Royale?

Clash Royale Spear Goblins Guide

Spear Goblins do not offer a lot in the arena, owing to their poor stats. However, every card in Clash Royale serves a purpose, regardless of the magnitude of its contribution. Indeed, the Spear Goblins are a swarm card that comes in a pack of 3 in order to overwhelm the enemy. This is in a similar vein to other swarm cards such as the Skeleton Army and Minion Horde.

The Spear Goblins cost 2 elixir to play and they are an effective tactic to tackle an incoming Graveyard. This counter is perhaps the best move that can be taken from the Spear Goblins. Barring all this, the Spear Goblins do not boast any abilities as such, leading players to look for other options over these goblins.

One obvious use of Spear Goblins is as a distraction to other single-target troops. However, considering their low health capacity, this is not recommended to perform especially when you have many better options.

Clash Royale Spear Goblins Tips

Next up in this Clash Royale Spear Goblins Guide, let’s take a look at some tips to help you use the Spear Goblins to their utmost potential:

  • Troop Placement: Placing the Spear Goblins at the right spot is vital as you need to extract their purpose without having them killed. For instance, if a Graveyard is placed near a crown tower, place your Spear Goblins closer to the King Tower. This way, the goblins can attack the skeletons that come out, and also force the opponent to activate your King Tower if he wants to take down the goblins by Arrows or other similar Spells.
  • Limited Swarm Counter: The Spear Goblins can only afford to eliminate troops that have similar health capacity to their own, due to their low damage output. Therefore, Skeletons, Minions, Bats, and all Spirits fall under its reach. If at all you intend to employ the Spear Goblins, ensure to split them and take down these swarms if they arrive from both lanes.
  • Deck Rotation: Spear Goblins’ cost can be taken as an advantage to rotate around the deck, similar to the Skeletons. This is also the reason why the Spear Goblins can be seen in a number of decks that average 3.3 elixir or below. Rotating around the cards in the deck allows you to deploy your primary card more often, resulting in more pressure on the opponent.
