Is Toland a Good Esper in Dislyte?

Toland is an excellent SPD lead for any team of Espers in Dislyte. As a Controller he makes use of 3 unique buffs that boost his SPD massively, allow him to incapacitate enemies preventing them from being buffed, AND, when killed, can inflict a devastating debuff on the Esper who made the kill. In particular, this all works to make him a great choice for Point War.

The highlight of Toland’s kit is his passive, Paid in Full. This sees him gain 3 stacks of Trackback at the start of combat and a further 1 stack of Trackback at the end of each turn (excluding his own). He can carry a maximum of 3 stacks of Trackback, with each stack increasing his SPD by 10. This is huge and easily makes him one of the Fastest Espers in Dislyte.

On top of the above, when he dies, Paid in Full also sees him inflict Final Passage on the Esper that made the final blow. As well as dispelling all their buffs, this also decreases their ATK, DEF, and SPD by 40% and increases their Miss Rate by 100%. This makes the Esper who made the kill a sitting duck. After this effect expires, Toland is revived with Absorb, Invincibility, and 1% of his Max HP.

Bonds of Fate is Toland’s basic ability and despite this is still highly useful. It targets 1 enemy, attacks them, inflicts them with Taunt, and steals a buff. This works well with Pursuit Attacks and Counterattacks to keep removing any buffs from the enemy.

Lastly, Toland’s third ability, Point of Origin, needs to be mentioned as this is his main source of control and also where he inflicts his final unique buff, Zero Hour. When Point of Origin is cast, he attacks 1 target 2 times and inflicts Zero Hour. It then consumes all stacks of Trackback, making a Pursuit Attack on random enemies based on the number of stacks consumed. Zero Hour incapacitates the enemy making them unable to be targeted or buffed.

Toland Equipment

First and foremost Toland is a SPD lead who needs to act fast to get his buffs and debuffs out as often as possible. In addition, either allowing him to counter to steal buffs or to increase his ACC to see debuffs proc with more regularity are both good options. Therefore, you should look to apply the following sets:

  • Wind: SPD +25%
  • Recurve: ACC +25%
  • Avatara: 25% chance of Counterattack upon taking damage.

Lastly, Toland’s Equipment characteristics should prioritize SPD, HP BONUS, and ACC.
