As highlighted in our King’s Choice Knight Guide, Lovers can be used to buff your Knights by quite a significant amount. Of course, first, you must actually get them and then earn Lover Power Points to upgrade their Knight buffs. In this King’s Choice Lovers Guide, we will take a look at exactly how to get Lovers, who they all are, and how to get the most out of them.

How to get Lovers
As almost every Knight in King’s Choice can get a Lover, there are quite a few that you can unlock. As such, it can take a significant amount of time to get each one. Additionally, they are not all obtainable under the same methods making things even more complicated. Indeed, this can be quite annoying especially when trying to get a specific lover for one of your Best Knights.
To maximize your chances of getting the Lovers you want, the first thing to know is exactly where they can be found in the game. For example, there is no point spamming the Patrol feature if the Lover you want is only available via increasing your VIP. In the next section we will outline exactly where to get each Lover, but overall the following methods are as follows:
- VIP level
- State power increase
- Consecutive sign-ins
- Knight Encounter
- Emperor’s Journey
- Patrol
- Recharge pack

As already mentioned, there are a serious amount of Lovers available to be unlocked in King’s Choice with each one associated with a different Knight and with a different way of unlocking. In the below table, you will find all the Lovers available in the game currently, which Knight they can be upgraded to buff, and how exactly to get them.

Lover Power Relations
When it comes to buffing your Knights with Lovers, it all comes down to Lover Power Relations. Each Lover will have 7 of these with each one buffing a different attribute of their Knight. The first 2 will typically buff the Knight’s main attribute(s) by a fixed amount, whilst the remaining ones will buff their attributes by a fixed percentage. Lover Power Relations are unlocked in stages based on the Lover’s Intimacy:

Once a Power Relation has been unlocked you can begin spending Lover Power Points on it to upgrade it. Each time a Power Relation is upgraded you will need an increasing amount of Power Points to take it to the next level. As such, to get the most out of the Power Relation buffs you will have to earn a serious amount of Power Points for your Lovers.
How to get Lover Power Points
As highlighted in the previous section, accumulating Power Points for your Lovers is key to upgrading their Power Relation buffs. There are 2 main ways that these can be gained: Random Greeting and taking part in the Ballroom.
Random Greetings are conducted in the Royal Garden and will see you interact with a random Lover. Each time a Lover is Greeted, they will gain a small number of Power Points depending on their Charm. A Random Greet chance is gained every 0 minutes or you can use Gin to replenish your Greeting chance back to the maximum.
The second way of increasing a Lover’s Power Points is via the Ballroom mechanic. With this, each day you are allowed to send up to 5 Lovers to take part in a Ball. Your Lover will be randomly paired with another player’s Lover with each of you then picking a Social Strategy to either insult or charm the other player. Once you have both chosen a Social Strategy, the Ball will end with Lovers gaining Power Points based on their Charm and the Social Strategy chosen:
- If you both choose a positive Social Strategy then you will gain additional Power Points.
- If you both choose a negative Social Strategy then you will not gain as many Power Points.
- If you choose a positive Social Strategy whilst your partner chooses a negative Social Strategy then you will not gain as many Power Points.
- If you choose a negative Social Strategy whilst your partner chooses a positive Social Strategy then you gain additional Power Points.
How to Increase Charm
As has been indicated by the previous sections, Charm is a pretty crucial attribute to Lovers for increasing their Power Points gain from Balls and Greetings. As such, you’ll want to ensure that you have your Charm as high as you can get it on the Lovers you are focused on upgrading. The easiest way to increase Charm is with Hairpin Gifts with each one given to your Lover increasing their Charm by a certain amount.
How to Increase Intimacy
Intimacy is another important attribute for Lovers that increases the potential attributes of any Heirs they produce. This will help you increase your State Power at a faster rate with your Heirs. The Heir attributes you can expect at different Intimacy levels are as follows:
- 10 Intimacy: 400 – 2,100 Heir Attributes
- 100 Intimacy: 600 – 3,000 Heir Attributes
- 1,000 Intimacy: 12,000 – 35,00 Heir Attributes
- 10,000 Intimacy: 95,000 – 250,000 Heir Attributes
As with Charm, Intimacy can be increased by giving your Lovers Gifts. Additionally, Intmacy can be increased by meeting Lovers during Patrols.
Relationship
Another important factor to consider with your Lovers is the level of the Relationship you have with them. The higher your Relationship level is with them, the greater the amount of upgrade attributes any Heirs produced by them will receive. This means they level up faster to be married off and therefore freeing up another Heir spot. Relationships are improved at certain Charm and Intimacy milestones as follows:

Patrol
The Patrol function is pretty crucial for unlocking certain Heirs as already outlined in this King’s Choice Lovers Guide, as well as for improving your Intimacy with them. Heirs
With improved Lovers, the Heirs that you produce with them will be much improved with each Heir produced adding to your State Power. They are produced by going on Dates with your Lovers via the Random Greeting function. There is a limit to how many Heirs you can have at any one time which can be increased by spending Gold. If your Heir limit is full, you cannot produce any new ones through Random Greetings.
Lover Breakup
You can break up with any of your Lovers using the Exile Plateau feature. Initially, you will have just one slot that can be used here, however, this can be increased by spending Gold or with Lover Breakup Letters. When you break up with a Lover, you will no longer meet them in Random Greetings or when going on Patrol making it a good way to Spend your King’s Choice Gold. You can recall a Lover from Excile after 100 days or by using 100 Gold for each day that remains on their cooldown.
Final Tips for Lovers
- Focus on only the Lovers that are associated with your Best Knights. There is no point in building up Lovers that buff Knights you never use or are of poor quality.
- Break up with Lovers that buff Knights you do not use. This will ensure you never meet them in Random Greetings for poor quality Heirs, instead focusing these events on the Lovers you use. It also stops you from meeting them on Patrol.
- Hoard your Intimacy Gifts for Intimacy Ranking Events. This is an easy way to place well for good rewards.
- Buy Rings from the Banquet Hall shop to use for marrying off your Heirs. This is a much more cost-effective way than using Gold.
