King’s Choice Negotiation Guide

As mentioned in our King’s Choice Knight Guide and our Tips for Beginners, Negotiations are a pretty key game mechanic for boosting the Power of your Knights. In this King’s Choice Negotiation Guide, we will take you through exactly what this feature is, how to get the most out of it, and let you know what buffs you can expect to get by taking part.

What are Negotiations

The Negotiation feature is unlocked after passing Outpost 30 and sees 1 player creating a table that up to 3 other players can join to conduct Negotiations. While conducting Negotiations, all players at the table will earn Scroll Points which can be used to buy Decree Scrolls for Knight buffs. Negotiations will last 3, 6, or 9 hours, depending on how many Negotiation Cards were used by the initiator. However, be warned, other players can steal your place! Keep reading this King’s Choice Negotiation Guide for all you need to know.

Taking a Seat

King's Choice Negoitation Guide - Negotiation Table

Once other players have created a Negotiation you can join their table in several ways. The easiest of these ways is to simply take a spot at a table that hasn’t seen its 3 slots occupied yet. Ideally, you should take a spot at a table that has been started by someone in your alliance as often there are server rules which say you shouldn’t steal places from the Negotiations of other players. However, if this is not the case then you will have to rely on Negotiation Protection items and your ability to win Contests.

Contests

If you cannot find a table with a free space then you can always challenge a player already seated to a Contest with the winning player taking the seat. A player that is kicked from a seat cannot join another Negotiation for an hour so it can be quite an annoying thing to happen! The winner of a contest is determined based on comparing the following attributes, in order:

  1. Title – the player with the highest Title wins: Emperor > King > Duke > Viscount > Other.
  2. Account Level – the player with the highest Account Level wins.
  3. Prestige – the player with the highest Prestige wins.

This therefore means that even though you may have a higher account level than another player, if they have a better Title then they will still beat you as this takes priority. In the event of a Draw then the Contest moves on to the next item on the list above. Finally, if it is a draw at both Title and Account Level, then the winner will be determined by the player with the highest Prestige.

Protection

If you are concerned about getting your spot taken in a Negotiation then you can protect yourself using Protection Cards. However, these do only protect you for 30 minutes therefore meaning you will have to use several to ensure you cannot be kicked for the duration of a Negotiation. These can be obtained from packs and as rewards in Events.

Starting a Table

King's Choice Negoitation Guide - Negotiation Card

One way to guarantee that you cannot be kicked from a Negotiation is to start one yourself by using Negotiation Cards. When starting a Negotiation you can use a maximum of 3 Negotiation Cards with each one extending the Negotiation duration by 3 hours. Negotiation Cards can be earned during Events or bought in packs.

Typically a table you start will have 3 free spaces for other players to join. However, there is an exception for this for players with titles of King or above. These players gain an additional 2 spaces at their tables for a total of 5 free slots!

Expulsion

The player who initiates a Negotiation in King’s Choice can expel players from their table that they do not want there. For example, if they want to ensure that their allies can sit with them. To do this you must use Negotiation Expulsion Cards which can be earned in Events or bought in packs.

Cooperation

In addition to using Negotiation Expulsion Cards, the initiator of a Negotiation can also use Cooperation Cards. These are like Protection Cards but are instead players on other players at the table to protect them from being kicked for 30 minutes. They can also be earned from Events or bought in packs.

Scroll Points

The reason everyone wants to join Negotiations is to earn Scroll Points which are used to purchase Decree Scroll buffs. These are paid out every minute of attendance at a Negotiation and 2 key factors determine the number you will gain. Firstly is the initiator Lord Level which increases the per-minute gain for all players at the table. Starting at Common Lord 1, the payouts are as follows:

Lord LevelPoints
Common Lord 11
Common Lord 22
Common Lord 33
Common Lord 44
Common Lord 55
Senior Lord 18
Senior Lord 216
Senior Lord 332
Senior Lord 464
Senior Lord 596
Superior Lord 1128
Superior Lord 2256
Superior Lord 3512
Superior Lord 41,024
Superior Lord 52,048

After the above, any Titles that you have will also add a small bonus to the number of Scroll Points earned per minute. These bonuses are calculated using the above as a base and are as follows:

TitlePoints
Baron+2%
Viscount+3%
Earl+4%
Duke+7%
King+10%

Decree Scrolls

King's Choice Negoitation Guide - Decree Scrolls

Once you have earned a good amount of Scroll Points it is time to start spending them on Decree Scrolls and make your Best Knights even better. As mentioned in our Knight Guide, there are 4 different Decree Scrolls available that cover buffs for each of the 4 attributes that can be leveled up to level 30. Any buffs gained from Decree Scrolls apply to all Knights you own which can stack into some pretty huge Knight Power buffs! However, this does come at a pretty high Scroll Point cost as you ascend the levels. The cost at each level is as follows:

Tips

Lastly in this King’s Choice Negotiation Guide, it is time to give some tips on how to make the most out of this feature. Following these should help you maximize your returns and perhaps help you place higher in some Ranking Events.

  • Look to join tables that have been started by your alliance. Players are less likely to try and steal from you in fear of making enemies and also possibly due to server rules.
  • If there are several tables available, join the one that has been initiated by the player with the highest Lord Level to ensure you are maximizing your per-minute return.
  • When starting a Negotiation, try to coordinate with your alliance so that they can join you.
  • Attempt to create server rules that allow all players to have a chance at Negotiations. For example by having specific days where no one can be kicked from a table or by prohibiting kicking players from tables started by their alliance. This helps everyone grow for Server Events.
  • Buy any Negotiation items that you find in Event Shops, specifically Negotiation Cards so you can always initiate 1.
  • Try to coordinate any Decree Scrolls you buy/upgrade with specific events such as State Power Growth or Talent Growth. These have the potential to add a huge number of points to your score. It can be tempting to redeem points as soon as you have them but the wait is generally worth it for the increased Event rewards.
