The Knight Encounter is a rare event in King’s Choice which only starts appearing after a server is about 6 months old and even then it still only occurs once every few months. However, as you’d expect for such a rare event, the rewards are really quite important. Indeed, it is the only way to get certain Knights and Lovers who are required to improve the Auras of exchange Knights such as the Arthurian Legends and the Famous Scholars. Read on as we explore in this King’s Choice Guide and discover exactly how to unlock these Knight Encounter Knights, and how they are used to improve your Aura Knights.

How the Event Works
For anyone familiar with Blackjack, you will start to get the idea behind the King’s Choice Knight Encounter event quite quickly. However, instead of using cards to try and hit a score of 21, you must mix cocktails which gives you a score, known as Cocktail Flavor in the event. To mix a cocktail you can use either a Big Cocktail or an Exquisite Cocktail. Each of these is available via different methods as outlined in the list below:
- Big Cocktail – Each day of the event you are given 8 of these for free. Further ones can be bought via packs. Each time you use one to mix a cocktail you will be rewarded with between 3 and 8 Cocktail Flavor.
- Exquisite Cocktail – These can be bought for 100 Gold each an unlimited amount of times. Each time they are used, you gain between 1 and 3 Cocktail Flavor.
Cocktail Flavor
As outlined in the previous section, to increase your Flavor Score you need to mix together Big Cocktails and Exquisite Cocktails. You must continue to build this value until at least 14 before you are able to cash out. Rewards get better at different Cocktail Flavor score milestones but if you breach 21 then you will instantly lose and receive a participation prize.

Giving Cocktails
The Regular and Mellow Cocktails that you win from mixing cocktails are used to give to a Knight who is waiting in the Knight Encounter Inn. They can also be given Excellent Cocktails which are bought in packs. Depending on the cocktail you give them, you will gain an increasing amount of affection points:
- Regular Cocktail – increases Affection by 1.
- Mellow Cocktail – increases Affection by 5.
- Excellent Cocktail – increases Affection by 10.
Affection
The goal during this event is to increase your number of affection points with the Knight at the inn by as much as you can. At certain Affection point milestones, you will gain Recruitment Notice items for that Knight. You must acquire a total of 100 to unlock them. As this is the only way to get these Knights/Lovers, it is extremely important to be active every day this event runs, and if you are a spender, then this is a good event to get the credit card out. Indeed, as a F2P player, it is not possible to get them in one go of this event, and the active Knight for each new Knight Encounter Event will cycle through all the options so it can take a significant amount of time to save up enough of each ones Recruitment Noice items.
Knight Encounter Knights
As touched on in the previous section, the active Knight at the Knight Encounter Inn will change each time the event comes around. Thankfully, there are a limited number of them, so with patience even a F2P player will eventually unlock them all. Although they are not the Best Knights in their own right, they are required to improve the Aura of certain powerful Knights, such as the Arthurian Legends, and therefore must be a priority to unlock. In addition, each Knight Encounter Knight can also be used as a Lover, granting further attribute boosts when developed. All the available Knight Encounter Knights are outlined below.

Improving Auras
As already touched on, the Knight Encounter Knights are required to improve the Auras of the sets of Knights outlined in the table from the previous section. You can find out more about Auras in our King’s Choice Knight Guide, however, they are essentially powerful buffs granted to Knights once certain criteria have been met. The final Aura of the relevant Knights is the one that requires you to have the Knight Encounter Knights. To gain the Aura, you must improve the attributes of the relevant Knight. For example, for the Famous Scholars, you must improve the attributes of Hypatia to improve their Aura.
Knight Encounter Tips
As such a money-hungry event, it is a good idea to have a strategy to help you maximize your Cocktail Flavor each time you play. As such, we have provided some tips below that should help you out. Good luck!
- Keep an eye on your current Cocktail Flavor Score, if you are already at 20, never attempt to add another cocktail and simply take the available prize.
- Do a quick calculation to work out the expected score from using one Big Cocktail when nearing 21. Indeed, each one has an average return of 5.5, therefore if you are already at 16 or more then more often than not a Big Cocktail will take you over 21. In these circumstances, it is a good idea to instead start using Exquisite Cocktails for 100 Gold each with an expected return of 2.
