Dislyte Esper Guides: Cang Ji (Cang Jie)

Originating from Cang Jie, a famous figure in Chinese history who is said to have invented Chinese Characters, Cang Ji is a legendary Inferno Support Esper. He is very powerful when it comes to taking control of battles through AP and HP manipulation that can bring his entire team to the front of the turn order in an instant.

Cang Ji Details

Is Cang Ji a Good Esper in Dislyte?

Cang Ji is a Defender Esper that can run amok amongst the enemy team by switching the HP and AP of enemies with that of his allies. In addition, he can hit for decent damage and inflict the Stun and Diseadsed debuffs on the enemy.

It is his third ability, Cosmos Writing, that is the real highlight here. With this, he is able to choose an ally who then has their HP and AP raised to that of the enemy with the highest HP and AP respectively. When upgraded, this ability will then swap the target’s HP and AP with that of the enemy AND raise all other allies’ AP to the same level. This can quickly put your entire team to the front of the turn order for a barrage of damage.

His other 2 abilities, Word Launch and Definitive Form, are a little bit less impressive but still useful for getting some damage and debuffs out. In addition, Definitive form can dispel 1 buff from the enemy target and reduce their AP to chaos a bit more chaos in the enemy’s turn order.

Cang Ji Abilities

In battle, an Esper will utilize their abilities in order to deal damage to the enemy and support their team. All Dislyte Esper Abilities start at Level 1 and can be increased further depending on the ability. Each additional level will improve the ability in a certain way. Word Launch

• Level 1: Attacks 1 enemy. Damage: 20% ATK +60% DEF. 60% chance of inflicting Diseased for 2 turns. Deals extra true damage. True damage: 5% Max HP of the non-Boss enemy with the highest Max HP, up to 100% of Cang Ji’s DEF (does not work against bosses).
• Level 2: DEF-damage conversion ratio increased to 70%.
• Level 3: Trigger Chance increased to 70%.
• Level 4: DEF-damage conversion ratio increased to 80%.
• Level 5: Trigger Chance increased to 80%.

Definitive Form

• Level 1: Attacks all enemies. Damage: 25% ATK +50% DEF. 50% chance of inflicting Stun for 1 turn. If an enemy is not stunned by this effect, dispels 1 buff, and has a 60% chance of inflicting AP –20%. Each SPD grants extra damage. Extra damage: 0.2% DEF.
• Level 2: Trigger Chance increased to 80%.
• Level 3: DEF-damage conversion ratio increased to 55%.
• Level 4: Trigger Chance increased to 100%.
• Level 5: Cooldown reduced by 1 turn.

Cosmos Writing

• Level 1: Selects 1 ally, and triggers Mirror effect: raises the ally’s HP percentage to the level of the non-Boss enemy with the highest HP percentage (only takes effect if the enemy’s HP percentage is above the ally’s; not regarded as healing). Also raises AP of the same ally to the level of the non-Boss enemy with the highest AP (only takes effect if the enemy’s AP is above the ally’s; not regarded as AP boost). Then, attacks all enemies. Damage: 50% of Cang Ji’s DEF. Damage scales with the enemy’s Max HP, up to +340%.
• Level 2: Cap increased to 360%.
• Level 3: Cap increased to 380%.
• Level 4: Cap increased to 400%.
• Level 5: Cooldown reduced by 1 turn.

Cang Ji Captain Ability

Increases ally DEF by 30%.

Cang Ji Ascension

All Espers in Dislyte can be further ascended to improve their stats starting from level 1. They can then be ascended again at levels 10/20/30/40/50 up to a total of 6 Ascensions. For more details on Ascending your Espers, check out our Dislyte Esper Guide.

• Phase 1: HP +950
• Phase 2: DEF +70
• Phase 3: Upgraded Cosmos Writing
• Phase 4: HP +10%
• Phase 5: SPD +7
• Phase 6: DEF +20%

Cang Ji Resonance

Cang Ji Divinate

You can collect Divinates for an Esper to increase their Divinate tier up to a maximum tier of 6. You can learn more about this feature in our Dislyte Esper Guide. The below shows the buffs Cang Ji receives at her maximum Divinate tier and maximum Divinate level:

• ATK +884
• HP +2,658
• Base ATK, Base DEF, and Base HP +30%
• When the bearer’s HP is full, Cosmo Writing’s Final Damage +20%

Cang Ji Equipment

Cang Ji sees his damage dealt scale quite a bit from his DEF stat. In addition, you want to ensure he is fast enough to get his turns in before the enemy in order to distribute his debuffs and engage in some AP manipulation. High SPD will also enable him to act more often and reduce the cooldown of his powerful Cosmos Writing ability much more quickly. Therefore, you should look to apply the following sets:

• Wind: SPD +25%
• Stonevein: DEF +25%

Lastly, Cang Ji’s Equipment characteristics should prioritize DEF BONUS, SPD, and ACC.
