Is Jacob a Good Esper in Dislyte?

Jacob is a poisoned-focused Controller who can quickly distribute a huge number of this debuff to the whole enemy team. He can then follow this up with Petrification on any enemies that are afflicted with Poison. Poison is relatively weak in PvP, such as Point War, but it can be useful in PvE against teams without dispels and who have high HP which can be worked down by the Poison stacks.

A good lead-out with Jacob can be to use his second ability, Entoxification, first. When used, this grants Fangs to all allies which then causes any enemy that attacks them to have a chance of becoming inflicted with Poison. This is particularly effective against teams or bosses with AoE abilities. A SPD build on Jacob can be useful here to ensure he gets Fangs out before any enemies attack.

Next, you’ll want to follow up with his third ability, Dust to Dust. This attacks all enemies with a chance to inflict them with Poison. If it is successful, or the target already has Poison, then they will also become afflicted with Petrification to prevent them from acting. On an enemy’s next turn, they will hopefully be petrified, as well as now having a good number of Poison stacks to work down their HP.

Jacob Equipment

SPD and ACC are crucial to making the most out of Jacob’s kit. SPD will allow him to get his Fangs out to allies quickly, whilst ACC will ensure that his Poisons actually land on their targets for maximum damage. Therefore, you should look to apply the following sets:

  • Wind: SPD +25%
  • Recurve: ACC +25%

Lastly, Jacob’s Equipment characteristics should prioritize HP BONUS, ACC, and SPD.
