Marvel Strike Force has given players a helping hand by identifying each character in the game with specific play style tags. These include Skill, Military, Blaster, Tech, Cosmic, Brawler, Medic, Mutant, Bio, and a few more. Here we look at the best Skill-Military Teams you can build in Marvel Strike Force.
It can be a lot of fun to build out your teams with a mix of these different play styles. This list of the best Skill Military-Marvel Strike Force should get you started with some great character synergy. However, you can always mix things up with a few of your own favorite Toons!
Red Guardian, Hawkeye, Yelena Belova, Black Widow & Punisher

This is hands-down, my favorite team to use in all of Marvel Strike Force! I have this team set as my Arena Defense, and first team to use in Alliance War and Raids. After playing the game for over four years now, I am still baffled, that I do not see this toon squad more in online matches. The team consists of:
- Hawkeye
- Black Widow
- Red Guardian
- Yelena Belova
- Punisher
This lineup starts off with a strong core between Hawkeye and Black Widow. These two have the advantage of manipulating “double-synergy“. This means that these toons work well off each other, not only because they are both Skill-Military allies, but also due to the fact that they are both members of the Wave-1 Avengers which features in our Best Teams for Beginners.
Black Widow enables Speed Up for all allies. This act gives Hawkeye an Assist Now every single time! Black Widow’s ultimate enables herself to go into Stealth: Making her untouchable for a few turns.
Hawkeye’s ultimate ability, Airburst, attacks all enemies for +190% damage + applies Slow, Blind to primary target +50%, and the chance to apply Blind to all remaining enemies. These two alone can really give another opponent a run for their money.
Red Guardian is the tank of the squad. His passive ability, Maskirovka, applies Defense Up and Speed Up for two turns to all Skill and Military allies. When the Russian powerhouse enables his Taunt, he engages Defense Up to all allies, and revives them +20% of their original max health. Lastly, Red Star, Red Guardian’s ultimate attack, attacks the primary target and adjacent targets for +500% damage, while ability blocking the primary target.
Yelena Belova and The Punisher offer assists off of other Skill-Military Marvel Strike Force allies, but don’t assume these two are the odd ones out. They deliver high amounts of damage alone.
In my experience, this team is not to be slept on. Most importantly, they can be used for any game mode. They are effective in Raids, Arena, Blitz, Real-Time Arena, and Alliance War!
Captain America, Killmonger, Black Widow, Yelena Belova & Punisher

There is not a lot of “Skilitary” toons to pick from in Marvel Strike Force, but you can definitely shop around and shuffle characters round. This team does a bit of that and consists of the following Toons.
- Captain America
- Killmonger
- Black Widow
- Yelena Belova
- Punisher
Captain America may be a better choice as the tank for some players since he Taunts after any teammate gets killed for two turns, and can also offer double-synergy with Black Widow. A drawback with selecting Captain America is that he offers no healing abilities, nor any ability blocks; things that Red Guardian delivers on.
Punisher is Punisher. It’s as simple as that. He brings high-amounts of damage on any attack, and can transfer one positive effect from the primary target to himself and all Skill Military allies.
Yelena Belova can also snag one positive effect from the primary target and transfer it to all Skill Military allies. On Yelena’s basic attack, Widow Strike, she receives an assist from a random Skill-Military ally or Black Widow (most of the time it’s Black Widow).
Unfortunately, Killmonger, does not offer any synergy abilities of his own. However, he is a pure Skill-Military toon, meaning he will receive all of his teammates’ synergetic passive abilities. Killmonger is able to apply Charged to himself, granting special bonuses to certain of his own abilities.
A downfall to this is when his Charged is used, its lost until he regains it later in the match. When it all boils down, Killmonger is another Punisher style character. He doesn’t bring much to the table beside a lot of chain attacks, and massive amounts of damage.
Other Skill-Military Team Options
Overall, with less than 10 toons that have the Skill-Military tag, there are only so many Skill-Military Marvel Strike Force Teams you can build.
Despite this, players can design a few teams out of these Skill-Military Marvel Strike Force Characters. Indeed, you can even make the debate to substitute Captain Marvel or Baron Zemo into these lineups. However, I bet you cannot create a stronger core five than Red Guardian, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Yelena Belova & The Punisher.
Watching this team in-game, makes you wonder why we haven’t seen them in any shows or movies yet. They compliment each other so well for any game mode. If you haven’t begun putting together a Skill-Military team, now you have the blueprints. Get to work! As always, keep on Strike Forcin’!
