Is Red Goblin Good in Marvel Strike Force

Red Goblin is a valuable character, particularly in Raids. He excels at applying debuffs, inflicting heavy damage, and keeping his allies alive. Here’s a breakdown of his main strengths:

  • Apply and extend negative effects: His ultimate transfers debuffs from allies to himself then spreads them to enemies and extends their duration. This combo with his special Trauma effect significantly hinders the enemy team.
  • Deal high damage: His ultimate deals heavy damage to all enemies, scaling with his positive effects.
  • Heal and support allies: His abilities heal himself and Hive-Mind allies, cleanse negative effects, and grant buffs like Regeneration and Taunt, increasing team survivability.
  • Revive Symbiote allies: His passive allows him to revive a fallen Symbiote teammate under specific conditions.
  • Gain buffs and speed boosts: When below half health with Taunt, Red Goblin gains Safeguard, Deathproof, and increased speed. Losing Hive-Mind allies further increases his speed.

Red Goblin Abilities

All characters have a range of abilities that determine how useful they are in different game modes and how well they synergize with other characters. Let’s take a look at Red Goblin’s powerful abilities at their maximum level:

Goblin Assault [Basic] [Max Level: 7]

  • Attack primary and adjacent targets for 350% damage + apply 2 Bleed.
  • Gain 2 Regeneration.
  • Apply 2 Regeneration to the most injured Hive-Mind ally.

Slash N’ Burn [Special] [Max Level: 7]

  • Attack primary and adjacent targets for 400% damage + apply Defense Down for 2 turns and 2 Bleed.
  • In Raids, apply Trauma for 2 turns to primary and adjacent targets.
  • Clear all negative effects from all allies.
  • Heal self and all allies for 30% of this character’s Max Health.
  • Apply 2 Regeneration to self and all Hive-Mind allies.

Out For Blood [Ultimate] [Max Level: 7]

  • If this character does not have Trauma, transfer 5 negative effects from each Hive-Mind ally to self, excluding Stun.
  • In Raids, copy 5 negative effects from self to each enemy.
  • Clear all negative effects from self + heal 15% of this character’s Max Health + 5% per negative effect cleared.
  • Attack all enemies for 320% damage + 125% additional damage per positive effect on this character + apply Slow for 2 turns.
  • In Raids, prolong the duration of all negative effects on all enemies by 1.
  • Apply 2 Regeneration to self and all Symbiote allies. This attack is Unavoidable.

Scarlet Shredder [Passive] [Max Level: 5]

  • On Spawn:
    • Gain Charged.
    • Apply Defense Up for 2 turns and 2 Deflect to self and all Hive-Mind allies.
    • In Raids, apply Taunt for 2 turns to the highest Health Hive-Mind ally.
  • On Turn:

    • Clear Taunt + apply Safeguard and 2 Deathproof.
    • Fill this character’s Speed Bar by 30%.
  • On Death of a Hive-Mind ally, fill this character’s Speed Bar by 25%.
  • When an enemy takes damage from Bleed, apply +1 Deflect, up to a maximum of 5, to all Hive-Mind allies.
  • Gain +60% Damage. Hive-Mind allies gain +60% Damage.
  • Gain +25% Block Amount. Hive-Mind allies gain +25% Block Amount.

Red Goblin T4 priority

While T4 materials offer potent max-level ability upgrades for Red Goblin, be wise and prioritize abilities with the biggest impact:

  1. Special (Slash N’ Burn) – Red Goblin’s Slash N’ Burn ability is a powerful attack that damages enemies, reduces their defense, and inflicts bleeding. It also heals Red Goblin and allies, removes negative effects, and grants them regeneration. In Raids, it additionally applies Trauma to enemies.
  2. Ultimate (Out For Blood) – Red Goblin’s ultimate clears his companions’ debuffs, transferring up to 5 negative effects to himself, then copies these effects and applies them to enemies

Red Goblin ISO-8

Since Red Goblin can damage multiple enemies with each attack, Raider is a strong class for him. Striker is also a good option, as his basic applies Bleed and guarantees Regeneration for self and injured allies.

Best Red Goblin Team in Marvel Strike Force

Red Goblin works well on many teams, as his main skills don’t require specific team composition to work. However, the Hive-Mind Team in particular has the best synergy gains by having him in the squad. This team consists of Gwenom, Carnage, Venom, and Void Knight.

  • Gwenom: Brings a versatile skillset to the battlefield. She can dismantle enemy defenses, bolster her Hive-Mind teammates, and inflict both bleeds and stuns. Additionally, she can manipulate the fight by reversing enemy buffs to her advantage.
  • Carnage: Excels in Bleed, Vulnerability, and Critical Damage, making him a formidable damage dealer. His passive and ultimate abilities provide additional utility by offering team-wide healing and speed manipulation.
  • Venom: Venom controls the battlefield by applying debuffs to enemies whilst also dealing a lot of damage.
  • Void Knight: Void Knight is a support hero who specializes in buff manipulation, ally boosting, and enemy control. He can also steal enemy energy to give his team a head start in Raids.
