The best guide on how to play and build Mr. Mime in Pokemon UNITE for Nintendo Switch and Mobile. Read on to find out everything about Mr. Mime including the best builds, Held and Battle items, movesets, as well as some general tips!
Mr. Mime has been a dominant force in Pokemon Unite for a while now. This guide will let you in on a few tricks you can pull with Mr. Mime, as well as which builds to run, to maximize your win rate with this incredibly strong Support Pokemon. Stick around and find out if Mr. Mime is the character for you!
Is Mr. Mime Good in Pokemon Unite?

Mr. Mime is quite the unusual Support. He cannot heal, or shield his buddies like Clefable or some other Supports can. Instead, his entire potential lies in disruption and setting up easy kills for your carry buddies, and opening the enemy team up like a can with your Unite Move.
Use Light Screen to prevent adversaries from obtaining Wild Pokemon in the early landing phase of the game. By positioning the barriers in the goal zone, you may also trap opponents who overextend and secure easy knockouts early on.
By the time you reach level 6, you have both of your moves at your disposal, so start acting aggressively and applying pressure to the adversaries. Prioritize Pokemon who grow stronger in the later phases of the game, in order to impede their progress toward their power spike.
During a fight with your opponents, try to stay right in the middle of the action. You get a surprisingly good level of defense through your passive skill, which enables you to take some damage for your squad. Not to mention that you should always be in range to trap someone who foolishly charges you.
Additionally, Mr. Mime’s offensive abilities are fantastic for capturing groups of wild Pokemon like Natus, Altarias, and Swablu. Simply use Light Screen on their spawn points early in the game when you still don’t have your other move, then activate Psychic for more damage.
Mr. Mime’s Unite Move is a great team fight starter despite having weak damage output, thanks to its strong area stun effect. Always try to hit as many targets as you can and stick around for the whole fight. Fall back if your health begins to dwindle, or if someone is attacking your carries hanging behind you.
Pokemon Unite Mr. Mime Best Build

Mr. Mime’s Passive Ability is Filter. Every time he uses a move, he takes 10% reduced damage from all sources for the next 2 seconds. Her Basic Attack also becomes empowered every 5 seconds, when these hit the enemy is struck into the air for 0.5 seconds. Keep reading the next section to find out the best movesets to use with Clefable.
The first move Mr. Mime gains is Fake Out, which damages enemies in front of him and knocks them back. Pretty useful for defending your carry when he gets into a bad spot early in the match. Below we will take a look at your upgrade options for your next 2 moves.
Move 1 Upgrade Options
Confusion transforms the move into a ranged blast that pushes foes it impacts back. If the enemy gets pushed into terrain via Confusion, they get stunned for 1.5 seconds and take bonus damage. This is a great harassing tool for the lane and a great way to mess with the enemy jungler.
The other upgrade option for move 1, Psychic, deals damage around Mr. Mime. The damage comes in the form of pulses or waves. The third and final pulse deals increased damage and stuns the enemy for 1 second.
Confusion and Psychic are both extremely good and to be honest you can pick either one and find success with it. Confusion, as I said before, excels at making you a grief machine that harasses the HP off Pokemon before they even enter battle. And if they happen to be taking a stroll through the jungle? They can kiss that HP bar goodbye.
Psychic, in contrast, doesn’t require aiming and can easily damage an entire group of enemies if you just stroll into the middle of them. Personally, I prefer Psychic, but Confusion is still good!

Move 2 Upgrade Options
Moving on, we have the second Mr. Mime move which is Light Screen. It is a move that spawns an impassable wall that pushes back enemies. It’s great for blocking off escape routes, trapping enemies, and making sure Attackers are out of range of your carries. The first upgrade option for move 2 is Barrier. It’s identical to Light Screen, but now you hold up to 3 uses instead of just one.
Power Swap transforms move 2 into another beast entirely! Pokemon hit by it become linked to Mr. Mime. While linked, Mr. Mime gains 15% movement speed and restores HP over time. If the target of the link is an ally then they also gain the movement speed and 15% increased damage dealt.
Alternatively, if you link to an enemy, he suffers an 8% decreased movement speed and deals 15% less damage. Power Swap also empowers Move 1 upgrades by transferring their effect to the linked enemy. Here I have no doubt in my mind, Power Swap is the way to go for its utility.
Mr. Mime’s Unite Move

Mr. Mime gains Showtime at Level 8. Upon activation, he leaps forward and begins a dance performance. He deals damage and stuns enemies in pulses around him for a short time. The initial stun makes this a great initiation tool.
Mr. Mime’s Best Skill Loadout
Without a doubt, the best combo of upgrades you can pick for Mr. Mime is Psychic and Power Swap. This offers you the combination of heavy damage, some healing for you and your team, and great hindrances. Furthermore, it’s not that aiming-heavy, making playing Mr. Mime a bit easier.
Best Held Items for Mr. Mime in Pokemon Unite
I highly recommend Focus Band and Buddy Barrier combo to offer even more Support utility to your team and make you tankier. For the third item, Energy Amplifier or Sp. Atk. Specs are the way to go. The boost to your Sp Atk will make all your moves deal more damage. Check out our Pokemon Unite Item Guide for more details on the best held items to use.

Best Battle Items for Mr. Mime in Pokemon Unite
The best option for Clefable’s battle item in Pokemon Unite is X Speed or Heal. This covers Mime’s downsides perfectly. X Speed gives him mobility that he only otherwise gets via being linked, so he can rush into team fights or to disrupt objectives.
Heal gives Mr. Mime the means to heal multiple allies instead of one at a time with Power Swap. Check out our Pokemon Unite Item Guide for more details on the best battle items to use.
