As part of this popular group of Pokemon, it is no surprise to see her in Pokemon Unite. Keep reading for our detailed build guide and a few tips on how to play with Espeon, such as her best lane and game strategy, in order to maximize your win rate.

Is Espeon Good in Pokemon Unite?

In contrast to other Pokemon, Espeon’s enhanced attack operates differently. Instead of activating after a certain amount of attacks, it has a gauge that fills up gradually. Prior to attacking, pay strict attention to your increased attack gauge.

High-mobility Speedster Pokemon like Gengar are the biggest threats to Espeon since they can swiftly take her down and easily avoid her attacks. These Pokemon will undoubtedly target you first during battles due to Espeon’s fragility, so be on the lookout for them.

Use Espeon’s long-ranged attacks to safely inflict damage and offer disables for your squad. You may even hide behind tough allies like Snorlax, allowing them to take the initiative and draw the attention of the adversaries while you barrage them with attacks.

At level 8, Espeon can learn her Unite Move, Psychic Solaire, sooner than many other Pokemon in the game. Make use of your initial Unite Move by exploring the map and forcing the enemy team into team fights. Forcing team fights so early in the game will be to your team’s advantage since other Pokemon will not have access to their Unite Moves yet.

In contrast to other Pokemon, Espeon gains her first move 1 upgrade, Psyshock or Stored Power, at level 4, which is an early power boost. You can prevail over these Pokemon if you can keep a level advantage and execute your techniques. Use Espeon’s powerful attacks to lock down the opposition’s Pokemon with slows and stuns or to put pressure on their HP.

Espeon’s passive ability is Anticipation. When a hindrance would have an impact on Espeon, the hindrance is canceled out, and Espeon temporarily gains hindrance immunity. The adversary who attempted to place the crowd control effect on Espeon receives damage from this ability as well as a slow.

Espeon’s basic attacks become boosted every 5 seconds, firing a beam in front of the user. The beam deals damage and decreases the movement speed of the targets hit.

Pokemon Unite Guide - Espeon Gameplay

The first move Espeon gains is Swift. She launches three stars in the designated direction, and they travel until they hit their maximum distance or until they hit an enemy. Each star deals damage to an enemy hit.

Move 1 Upgrade Options

The first upgrade option for move 1 is Psyshock. With this, Espeon fires five projectiles in a line, each of which deals damage to nearby foes and slows down their mobility. Stronger psychic projectiles are launched at a specific place when Psyshock is strengthened by Future Sight reset. At their point of convergence, these missiles explode, inflicting damage on any foes around.

The other upgrade option for move 1 is Stored Power. This is a sure-hit ability that fires blasts at nearby foes within a range, damaging those struck and slowing their mobility with each hit. Every 2 seconds, or after successfully hitting an opponent with a boosted attack, Espeon accumulates one burst of psychic energy of which a maximum of 5 can be stored. Espeon’s movement speed is accelerated after using this move.

Both moves are alright, Stored Power is generally easier to use since it doesn’t require manual aiming, therefore it is recommended for newcomers to Espeon’s gameplay.

Move 2 Upgrade Options

Moving on, we have the second move which is Growl. Growling at a designated enemy will deal damage to the target and decrease their movement speed.

The first upgrade option for move 2 is Psybeam which fires a ray in the designated direction. If the beam hits an enemy, it will then split beyond the first enemy hit and deal damage to other enemies in range. The initial enemy hit and these split rays deal more damage based on the max HP of the first enemy hit by the ray.

Future Sight is the second upgrade option. When used, Espeon latches on to a target and deals damage to that target’s surrounding area two seconds later. Depending on the locked-on target’s remaining HP, it will do extra damage. In addition, Espeon’s other moves will aim at the locked-on target.

The cooldowns of Stored Power and Psyshock are lowered by 0.8 seconds for each damage that Espeon deals with Future Sight. A single powered-up use of Psyshock or Stored Power becomes temporarily accessible if the locked-on target is knocked out. Future Sight is eliminated by Full Heal and other cleanses like Blissey’s Natural Cure.

Once again both options are great and fulfill different objectives, Future Sight works much better with Stored Power thanks to the lock-on mechanic, and Psybeam usually works better with Psyshock. Since both Future Sight and Stored Power are sure-hit abilities it is much easier for newcomers to this Pokemon to use.
