Pokemon Unite Glaceon Guide and Build

Glaceon, Eevee’s Ice-type evolution is one of the Best Attackers in Pokemon Unite. This Pocket Monster’s slower damage scaling and total output are among its drawbacks as Glaceon’s damage output is dependent on Ice Crystals management. However, skilled users may bully their lane opponent and out scale them towards the later stages of the game.

In this Pokemon Unite Glaceon Guide, we will let you in on a few tricks you can pull with Glaceon, as well as which builds to run, to maximize your win rate with this incredibly strong Attacker. Stick around and find out if Glaceon is the Pokemon for you!

Is Glaceon Good in Pokemon Unite?

Glaceon is a one-trick pony, no fluff, no fancy stuff, he just deals damage. He is great at doing this and that’s how he rose to the very highest tier of the Attacker Pokemon. However, his limited mobility, crowd control, and survivability make him tough to play. Not to mention that he lacks adaptability when you need more than just brute force.

When playing Glaceon, your only job is dealing damage from a safe distance. To do that consistently through the fight you need to stay alive, as your mere presence can make the enemies nervous enough to make a mistake. Thankfully, due to Glaceon’s passive ability, you are not defenseless.

Nevertheless, you should consider laning with a Support Pokemon that will help you stay alive longer, or a Defender Pokemon who will tank all the hard-hitting attacks for you. Otherwise, you are a juicy target for Junglers, Assassins, and more mobile Attackers.

Pokemon Unite Glaceon Overview

Glaceon’s Passive Ability is Snow Cloak. It activates when you are a target of an enemy ability that causes any hindrance like slows, stuns, or disables. Said hindrance fails to take effect, you enter stealth and become invincible for a short time.

This sounds quite powerful, but… not really. First of all, it has a whopping 70 seconds cooldown. And second of all, ANY hindrance ability will set it off. Your landing opponent has to hit you once with any ability that could be as low as an 8-second cooldown to take away your only defensive option for 70 seconds. So do not expect this to activate when you need it the most.

Glaceon also features quite a unique Basic Attack mechanic. With every third attack, his attack becomes empowered, dealing more damage, and generating 2 ice crystals that in turn empower his abilities. He can hold onto 8 ice crystals in total.

The first move Glaceon gains is Swift, which summons 4 stars around him. Basic Attacks become empowered and deal increased damage while consuming these stars until he runs out. The two upgrades you can choose from are Icicle Spear and Icy Wind.

Move 1 Upgrade Options

Poekmon Unite Glaceon Ability Gameplay

Icicle Spear is a sure-hit move that launches all your built-up ice crystals at the enemy you targeted. It deals damage and reduces the cooldown of your other ability, nothing else that fancy. But the huge problem with this move is the fact that it can be blocked. Any enemy standing between your attack and the target will tank the hit instead. This makes it impossible to safely hit your chosen target in a team fight.

The other option, Icy Wind, is a short-ranged dash that can go over walls. Upon using it, your next basic attack launches all your ice crystals to deal damage per each that struck the enemy. If 4 or more crystals connect then the enemy is slowed for 1 second. You instantly regain all the ice crystals you used after the ability hits.

Icicle Spear deals more damage, but Icy Wind is just a better ability overall. It provides damage, the range for safely poking the enemy, and more importantly mobility. Who cares if Icicle Spear deals more damage if it can be easily blocked by the enemy Snorlax who will then pummel you into the ground because you had to come into range to use the damn thing?

Move 2 Upgrade Options

Moving on, we have the second Glaceon move which is Tail Whip. It’s a sure hit move that slows the enemy Pokemon hit, as well as decreasing their defense and SP Defense for 2 seconds. Your upgrade options at level 6 are Ice Shard and Freeze Dry.

Ice Shard increases your movement speed for 0.5 seconds after use, after that Glaceon’s attack speed increases by 50% for 2 seconds. During all this time his basic attacks are empowered, they also slow enemies’ movement speed and generate ice crystals.

Freeze Dry is a damaging skill shot with an AoE explosion instead. When any enemy is struck by this ability Glaceon’s Sp. Atk increases by 50%, and also gains 2 ice crystals per enemy caught in the explosion. The center of this blast then becomes a zone that slows down enemies.

Overall both of these options are appealing. Ice Shard gives Glaceon the only shred of mobility he gets from his kit that he can control, but it’s honestly not much. And it’s still better to activate it and make your last stand rather than trying to outrun someone with more mobility options than you. Freeze Dry gives you more range, allowing you to stay away from danger, thus you won’t need the mobility to escape in the first place.

Glaceon’s Unite Move

Glaceon, like most Pokemon, gains his Unite move at Level 8. Glacial Stage creates an ice zone in the specified location within Glaceon’s range. The initial cast deals damage to enemies, and then increases Glaceon’s movement speed when he is traversing through it, while also decreasing the movement speed of enemy Pokemon. Glaceon also generates ice crystals while within the ice zone.

Glaceon’s Best Skill Loadout

Without a doubt, the best combo of upgrades you can pick for Glaceon is Icy Wind and Freeze Dry. This offers you the best damage output, with added mobility from Icy Wind’s jump, and more importantly, increased range. Staying far away from the ability range of your enemies is crucial to your survival as Glaceon in Pokemon Unite.

Best Held Items for Glaceon in Pokemon Unite

I highly recommend a Choice Specs and Wise Glasses combo to pump up Glaceon’s Sp. Attack. This turns him into a nuker capable of one-shotting enemy Attackers. For the third item, Energy Amplifier or Scope Lens are the way to go. Glaceon has great synergy with Energy Amp since he can take advantage of the entire buff duration easily. Best Battle Items for Glaceon in Pokemon Unite

The best option for Glaceon’s battle item in Pokemon Unite is the Eject Button. Alternatively, you can opt for X Attack. The Eject Button mobility potential is just too strong to ignore. But if you are more into standing your ground till the end then go for X Attack. You don’t need to run if all your enemies are dead, so, you know.
