Sableye is quite a unique Support, with no healing or shield-granting abilities like a traditional Support would. Instead, Sableye is more interested in stealth ambushes and stunlocking the enemy team, effectively peeling for the Attackers of their team.

This guide will let you in on a few tricks you can pull with Sableye, as well as which builds to run, to maximize your win rate with this Pokemon. Stick around and find out if Sableye is the character for you!

Is Sableye Good in Pokemon Unite?

Pokemon Unite Sableye Moveset

Sableye’s usefulness in battle depends on your capacity to help your friends by making use of its sneaky talents to either score as many points as you can behind enemy lines or lure opponents into a trap that your team can exploit.

It is still preferable to avoid your opponent’s sight and try to score points as silently as you can, especially if you have score-related Held Items equipped. However, Sableye does have great stealth tools that are hard to counter. Even when spotted and attacked Sableye can get away easily, since enemies will be slowed down, which allows you to flee and hide in the jungle.

Every time Sableye switches to stealth mode, its increased attack meter begins to fill. This enables you to deal more damage during ambushes. Always strike from the shadows, use all your skills, and then run away and re-engage from stealth with the same strategy until your target is KO’d.

Making it tough for the opposition to get ahead is the main goal of Sableye’s early game with Sableye great at making life hard for Pokemon whose power spikes in the late game. It can easily ambush said Pokemon in the early game where they are the weakest and slow down their progress enough that they won’t reach the peak of their strength before the game ends.

Sableye can use “Thief” to rob opponents of their Aeos Energy. It works especially well against opponents that are wearing equipment that affects scoring, such as Attack Weight. Aside from this interaction, if the victim does not possess Aeos Energy, the move transforms into a fast and simple stun move.

Sableye can continue to play more passively and forego additional damage in favor of increased utility when selecting upgrades for its moves. Both of its offensive moves support very distinct playstyles, which makes it great at adapting to certain compositions and situations.

Pokemon Unite Sableye Best Build

Sableye’s passive ability is Prankster. With this, Sableye enters stealth and gains increased movement speed when outside of the field of vision of the enemy team. When Sableye enters the vision of the enemy team, it remains in stealth for a couple of seconds. Sableye exits stealth when attacking.

In addition, Sableye’s basic attacks become boosted every three attacks. These boosted attack deals additional damage and slow the enemies hit. When in stealth, boosted attacks will also apply the fear effect to the hit enemy. The Pokemon also immediately charges a boosted attack when entering stealth.

The first move Sableye gains is Thief. Sableye dashes, dealing damage to any enemies hit and decreasing their movement speed. If this move hits an enemy, Sableye steals a small amount of their Aeos energy. If those enemies didn’t have any Aeos energy, they will be stunned for a moment.

Move 1 Upgrade Options

Pokemon Unite Sableye Gameplay

The first upgrade option for move 1 is Knock Off. Sableye dashes in a select direction and again back to the place of the cast, dealing damage to enemies hit and stunning them. This move can be recast to swipe in front of Sableye, dealing damage, pushing, and stunning any enemies in the AOE. When either the first or second activation of this move hits an enemy, they will drop some of their collected Aeos energy.

The other upgrade option for move 1, Shadow Sneak, is a buff instead. Sableye enters stealth and gains increased movement speed with a readied boosted attack. While this move is active if Sableye exits stealth they will be able to re-enter stealth again. These effects work even if they are in direct view of opponents.

Both of Sableye’s offensive moves are fine and they support different playstyles. Shadow Sneak is a little bit more popular option with slightly better win rates.

Move 2 Upgrade Options

Moving on, we have the second move which is Astonish. Sableye attacks in a cone in front of themself, dealing damage to enemies hit and decreasing their movement speed. If this move hits enemies from behind all the effects are empowered.

The first upgrade option for move 2 is Feint Attack. This throws dummy Aeos energy to a designated location which explodes when any walks over it, causing dealing damage over time in an area and decreasing movement speed.

The second upgrade is Confuse Ray. This fires a ray dealing damage to enemies hit and applying confusion, forcing them to attack nearby allies with basic attacks.

While Feint Attack is funny and can be used in more relaxed matches, Confuse Ray outclasses it in any significant metric.

Sableye’s Unite Move

Sableye gains Chaos Glower at level 8. When used, Sableye becomes unstoppable and emits light in a cone in front of itself. Enemy players who are facing Sableye at the moment of being hit are unable to act and start preparing to return to base. If they take damage before returning to the base, the return effect will be canceled. Enemies who face away from Sableye are simply slowed.

Sableye’s Best Skill Loadout

The best Sableye loadout is pairing Shadow Sneak with Confuse Ray. This loadout offers the best damage output, control over the battlefield, and tools to escape from harm’s way.

Best Held Items for Sableye in Pokemon Unite

Combining Exp. Share and Buddy Barrier is a great way to improve Sableye’s support abilities to empower his allies. Throw in an Attack Weight to further boost Sableye’s attack, so you can pick off key targets from the enemy team in a much swifter manner. Check out our Pokemon Unite Item Guide for more details on the best held items to use.

Best Battle Items for Sableye in Pokemon Unite

The best option for Sableye’s battle item in Pokemon Unite is the Eject Button. Sableye does have some mobility with the usage of his passive and Shadow Sneak, but they are not foolproof since they can always be hit with a disable or an AoE attack.

Eject Button is a great way to disengage when the enemy pressure is too much for you to handle. Check out our Pokemon Unite Item Guide for more details on the best battle items to use.
