The best guide on how to play and build Gardevoir in Pokemon UNITE for Nintendo Switch and Mobile devices. Read on to find out everything about Gardevoir including the best builds, Held and Battle items, move sets, as well as some general tips!
Gardevoir is a classic Gen III Pokemon that was understandably introduced to Unite very early into its lifetime. And much like Sylveon it never got much of a chance to shine. However, balance updates have now made this Pokemon much more viable!
This guide will let you in on a few tricks you can pull with Gardevoir, as well as which builds to run, to maximize your win rate with this unique Attacker. Stick around and find out if Gardevoir is the character for you!
Is Gardevoir Good in Pokemon Unite?

Gardevoir is an Attacker who reaches their full potential in the middle to the end of the game. However, this does mean that it has a very poor early game. So do your best to avoid foes, and only attempt to assist teammates with your Confusion ability in these early stages.
An enemy Speedster or All-Rounder who knows anything about this gave will aim to take advantage of Gardevoir’s early-game weakness by being aggressive. Farm safely next to your goalposts or by using tall grass to stay out of trouble. Be ready to employ Teleport defensively if you don’t have any backup or get caught out of position. Otherwise, if your companions are engaged in combat, make use of Gardevoir’s range to stay safe.
It is ESSENTIAL to use your long range to deal damage from a safe distance when playing Gardevoir because it is a very squishy Pokemon, especially during team fights. When using your moves from a distance, try to stay behind tanky teammates like Snorlax and let them take the damage. Also, stick to your Supports, you will need them.
Stealing boss Pokemon like Regirock from your adversaries is another great use for Gardevoir’s long-range. Since they deal the highest damage with great range, Psyshock and Future Sight are the best options for this. The same goes for the laning phase, use those abilities to support your teammates from a safe distance.
Gardevoir is great for surprise attacks with its huge Burst damage thanks to its boosted attack. Follow this up with teleporting into another boosted attack since Teleport grants you a free boosted attack after using it. And finally, finish off with your other ability for a massive combo.
Fairy Singularity is an excellent setup tool for team fights since it attracts foes to the target area. Use it to start team fights by catching key enemy team members out of position and serving them up to your teammates.
Pokemon Unite Gardevoir Best Build

Gardevoir’s passive ability is Synchronize. When an enemy inflicts decreased movement speed or a damage-over-time effect on Gardevoir, that enemy takes damage and has its movement speed slowed for a moment. This ability has 8 seconds cooldown time.
Gardevoir’s attack becomes boosted every third strike, dealing increased damage with an AoE effect. Enemies caught by this attack have their Sp. Def reduced. The first move Gardevoir gains is Confusion. It fires a bolt that can travel a great distance. Enemies hit take damage and have their movement speed reduced.
Move 1 Upgrade Options
The first upgrade option for move 1 is Psychic. Gardevoir fires a blast that explodes into an AoE on impact with any enemy struck. The blast creates a lingering field that damages and slows enemies traversing through it. Each time Psychic deals damage it reduces the target’s Special Defense.
The other upgrade option for move 1, Moonblast, fires a big ranged blast that stuns and damages the first enemy hit and all enemies in a cone directly behind it. Using this ability moves Gardevoir backward, which can be used in a pinch as a “dodge” of sorts. When upgraded Gardevoir gains a shield.
Both upgrades are quite viable. Mainly because they are extremely similar in function. Psychic can deal damage to a group of enemies via the damaging zone it creates, while Moonblast achieves the same result with a cone-shaped blast. Just pick the one that you are more comfortable using after some practice.

Move 2 Upgrade Options

Moving on, we have the second move which is Teleport. This move is extremely self-explanatory, Gardevoir simply teleports to the specified area while gaining a boosted attack charge.
The first upgrade option for move 2 is Psyshock. Which makes Gardevoir call down 3 AoE pulses in a specified area. Reducing the cooldown of other abilities each time this move strikes an enemy.
The second upgrade is Future Sight which creates an explosion in the select area. The cooldown of this ability is reduced by 75% if it strikes the enemy. Gardevoir also boosts its movement speed for 1 sec after a hit.
Psyshock is way more reliable than Future Sight while offering more potential damage. 2 pulses of Psyshock guarantee to out-damage Future Sight every time. Future Sight is also somewhat hard to land because of its delayed explosion.
Gardevoir’s Unite Move

Gardevoir gains Fairy Singularity at level 9. It creates a black hole that sucks any enemies caught in its radius toward the center while dealing damage to them at the same time. It does so in 5 separate pulses, the final one deals more damage and pushes enemies away from the center.
Gardevoir’s Best Skill Loadout
The best Gardevoir Loadout is all about pairing Psyshock with either Moonblast or Psychic. Whether you want Moonblast or Psychic is the dealer’s choice, they are functionally identical. But Psyshock is a must-have since it outperforms Future Sight by a significant margin.
