The best guide on how to play and build Absol in Pokemon UNITE for Nintendo Switch and Mobile devices. Read on to find out everything about Absol including the best builds, Held and Battle items, move sets, as well as some general tips!
Absol is one of Pokemon Unite’s most popular Speedsters. Absol is a solid pick that has stood the test of time since Pokemon Unite was released. Despite nerfs and buffs, Absol has stood at around a 50% win rate for months now.
This guide will let you in on a few tricks you can pull with Absol, as well as which builds to run to maximize your win rate with this incredibly strong melee Attacker. Stick around and find out if Absol is the character for you!
Is Absol Good in Pokemon Unite?

The fastest way for Absol to level up and learn its main move set is as a jungler. Before the game starts, let your team know that you’ll be going to the jungle to reduce any misunderstanding and hostility.
Absol’s high critical hit rate and damage make it powerful in the early game. Early on in the game, be aggressive to put pressure on your opponents and drive them to defend themselves.
If you can continue pursuing objectives, you can control the game’s tempo. By doing this, you may weaken the other team while giving your team room to advance in levels and capture objectives. Additionally, it’s the ideal method for Absol to grab control of the game and take the lead.
Stalk and attack any opponents you come across who are separated from their team. Since Absol is so good in 1v1 battles, you’ll have a better chance of winning in this scenario. Set up ambushes and hit enemies fast with your superior mobility. This enables you to dive into the backlines fast and take out key players in the enemy team.
When your attacks fail, disengage right away and avoid trying to start a fight, especially with Pokemon who have burst damage or disables. Wait until your moves are off cooldown before trying to battle again. Use your offensive dash moves as a last-ditch escape maneuver if you find it impossible to disengage. Only in life-or-death situations is it necessary to do this, though. With your moves on cooldown, you are easy prey.
Pokemon Unite Absol Best Build

Absol’s passive ability is Super Luck. It increases the Pokemon’s critical rate by 15%. Absol’s basic attack becomes empowered with every 3rd attack. It deals more damage, while also decreasing enemies’ defenses by 15% for 2 seconds. The attack can hit multiple people, but it gains boosted damage when you strike only 1 opponent.
The first move Absol gains is Feint. It causes it to dash in a crescent arc, dealing damage to any enemy it passes through, ignoring all defenses and shields.
Move 1 Upgrade Options

The first upgrade option for move 1 is Night Slash. Absol once again dashes in a crescent arc, this time only damaging the first enemy hit. If it hits an enemy you can reactivate the ability to dash again, damaging all enemies hit this time, while also boosting Absol’s attack speed. This move has an increased crit rate against enemies below 50% HP.
The other upgrade option for move 1, Pursuit, makes Absol dash in a straight line, and then dash to an enemy he targets with his basic attack to deliver a powerful blow. If this ability strikes the enemy Pokemon in the back then the damage is massively increased while also reducing its cooldown by 80%.
Pursuit is definitely the stronger move if you can consistently attack enemies in the back, which can be quite challenging unless you sneak up on them in a team fight. On the other hand, Night Slash’s crescent arc is so unbelievably easy to dodge, or simply mess up by Absol. Out of the two, Pursuit is definitely more consistent and rewarding.

Move 2 Upgrade Options
Moving on, we have the second move which is Slash. With this, Absol swipes in a wide cone in front of him. This move has a 15% increased critical hit chance.
The first upgrade option for move 2 is Psycho Cut. It transforms the move into a ranged projectile which deals damage and slows down any enemy it passes through. It also applies 3 marks on each enemy it struck. Absol’s basic attacks consume the marks one by one, dealing additional damage while doing so.
The second upgrade is Sucker Punch. Absol selects one enemy as their target and enters a counter stance for 1 second. Absol will completely negate the first attack against it during the counter stance. If the selected target attacks, or if Absol gets attacked by anyone else, he dashes behind his initial target, deals damage, and stuns them. If the counter stance expires he will perform this action regardless, but for less damage.
Sucker Punch is way better. The combination of mobility, damage, and crowd control, on top of the ability to deny a major enemy ability, if timed correctly, is just hard to beat.
Absol’s Unite Move

Absol gains Midnight Slash at level 9. It unleashes 5 slashes in a wide cone in front of Absol, while he becomes untargetable for a brief moment. After the slashes, Absol unleashes 3 blades of energy that move away from Absol in the direction he was slashing. The blades shove enemies back and damage them, they can also hit the same opponent multiple times.
Absol Best Skill Loadout
Without a doubt, the best combo of upgrades you can pick for Absol is Pursuit and Sucker Punch. This offers you a nice mix of being able to counter damage, mobility, and damage.
Pursuit deals great damage, even if it’s not a backstab. But deals INSANE damage when it is a backstab. Sucker Punch has more of a competition, but Psycho Cut is a skill shot you can miss on top of not doing anything else… it’s just a pure damage move without any adaptability.
Best Held Items for Absol in Pokemon Unite
Scope Lens, Attack Weight, and Razor Claw combo is a great way to boost your attack stats via more crit chance, cooldown reduction, and just flat attack increases. Furthermore, the Scope Lens passive of dealing additional crit damage synergizes insanely well with Absol’s abilities. Best Battle Items for Absol in Pokemon Unite
The best option for Absol’s battle item in Pokemon Unite is the Eject Button. It’s a great way to engage fights or disengage them when your other dash abilities are on cooldown. Furthermore, it’s a great tool to secure a backstab with Pursuit if the enemy decides to reposition and face you after you dash with it.
