Is Azumarill Good in Pokemon Unite?

The primary focus of Azumarill’s gameplay is its passive ability, Huge Power. Which allows him to consistently inflict large amounts of damage in the form of guaranteed critical strikes on every ability and attack. The passive power, however, only activates when you hit a single enemy and will not activate if Azumarill hits a cluster of foes.

Because of this, you should always concentrate on just one enemy. Securing clustered Wild Pokemon spawns like Altaria and Swablu in the midst of the lanes is a waste of time as Azumarill. His abilities can easily hit several targets, therefore it is essential to break up groups of enemies, and aim his abilities in such a way that they hit only one target.

Azumarill has a strong damage output for single targets, therefore completing map objectives even by yourself won’t be difficult. However, it is still advised to bring at least one ally to help you either enhance the area’s defenses or do more damage. You also do not want to get caught by the enemy and go into a 2v1 with this pokemon.

Huge Power activates based on how many enemies you hit with your ability or basic attack and is not based on how many enemies are present in a fight. Therefore, as I mentioned during his jungling breakdown, you should aim in unorthodox ways to hit just a single enemy. However, do not expect this to work in big team fights, enemies will group too close, and move too much to realistically hit only one of them.

Ideally, it would be best if you concentrated on out-of-position opponents or set up ambushes for the enemy jungler. In a one-on-one battle, Azumarill is powerful enough to defeat the majority of Pokemon, including even one of the Best Defenders or Best Attackers.

Pokemon Unite Azumarill Best Build

Azumarill’s Passive Ability is Huge Power. Every time he hits a single enemy with a basic attack, Unite Move, or moves, the damage critically strikes for 150% of its normal value. When Azumarill hits 2 or more enemies with any of the attacks mentioned above they never critically strike, no matter his crit chance.

The first move Azumarill gains is Tackle. It causes him to charge forward a short distance, dealing damage to any enemy he dashes into. Enemies who get charged also suffer a brief stun.

Move 1 Upgrade Options

Play Rough transforms the move into a buff which increases Azumarill’s movement speed for a short time. The next basic attack causes Azumarill to jump toward the enemy and deliver a series of blows that stuns them for 0.75 seconds.

The other upgrade option for move 1, Water Pulse is a skill shot ability. When an enemy is struck by it, his movement speed is decreased for 2 seconds, the pulse then explodes around the enemy struck to deal damage to any enemies near him. The ability then automatically jumps from one enemy to another and repeats the process.

Water Pulse is the better option out of the 2. Azumarill can already win pretty much any 1v1. But when you enter a team fight you offer limited use to your team. Water Pulse covers that weakness because even though it will never critically strike, its outright damage is still insane against grouped enemies.

Move 2 Upgrade Options

Moving on, we have the second Azumarill move which is Bubble. It’s quite simple, it sprays bubbles in a cone in front of him, damaging anyone caught by them.

The first upgrade option for move 2 is Whirlpool. It summons 4 water torrents near Azumarill, if it strikes an enemy they take damage, while Azumarill gets healed. The whirlpools continually move counter-clockwise, therefore you should move clockwise around the enemy for maximum effect.

The second upgrade is Aqua Tail. It empowers the damage, speed, and coverage of your next 3 auto attacks. While also healing Azumarill for each hit.

Both of these moves are something to consider. Whirlpool gives you more 1v1 pressure and way more control if you want to strike only one enemy. Aqua Tail gives you more team fight presence but you will consistently hit more than one enemy, losing out on some crits.

Azumarill’s Unite Move

Azumarill gains Belly Bash at Level 8. Upon activation, he drums on his belly 3 times. Each time costs him 5% of his current HP, in exchange, he gains a 5% Max HP shield for each flop. After he finishes, he gains increased Attack for 5 seconds. After he finishes buffing up you can charge at a select enemy within range to deal damage in an area around him and knock every enemy in the area into the air.

Azumarill Best Skill Loadout

Without a doubt, the best combo of upgrades you can pick for Azumarill is Water Pulse and Aqua Tail. This offers you heavy damage against groups of enemies. While in any 1v1 scenario you should still win thanks to your passive.

Best Held Items for Azumarill in Pokemon Unite
