This guide will let you in on a few tricks you can pull with Dragonite, as well as which builds to run, to maximize your win rate with this Pokemon. Stick around and find out if Dragonite is the character for you!

Is Dragonite Good in Pokemon Unite?

Pokemon Unite Dragonite Gameplay

At level 8, Dragonite sees his passive upgraded into Multiscale and also sees him gain his main move for dealing damage. This is the point where Dragonite really comes into his own and allows him to compete well in one-on-one battles. As such, it is highly important to ensure you get to level 8 as soon as possible. Taking out Wild Pokemon in the Jungle is the safest route to achieving this alongside well-timed KOs in the lanes.

When you use Dragon Breath, one of Dragonite’s basic moves, your attack is immediately boosted. Combining Boosted Attack with Dragon Breath and following that up with another Boosted Attack can result in some respectable damage. Employ the combination during early-game encounters to surprise the enemy. Move cooldowns also decrease by 1 second each time a Boosted Attack is used.

Dragonite’s Unite Move, Draco Impact, has special targeting and recharging mechanics that let you employ it more flexibly, making it useful in a variety of circumstances. However, it is possible to be knocked down when Dragonite channels Draco Impact, furthermore Dragonite will still be vulnerable to assaults before flying to its target. Knowing when to utilize it safely is crucial.

Pokemon Unite Dragonite Moveset

Dragonite’s passive ability is Marvel Scale. It increases Defense by 100 for 1.5s when afflicted by a status condition. This evolves into Multiscale when Dragonite reaches level 8 with the passive effect changing so that when Dragonite is damaged by an enemy player he gains a damage reduction buff for 2.5 seconds. This ability has a 15-second cooldown.

Dragonite’s basic attacks become boosted every 3 attacks, and it alternates between water, electric, and fire attacks. Water attacks restore 5% max HP to Dragonite, electric attacks stun the enemy for a moment, and fire attacks deal bonus damage based on the enemy’s remaining HP.

The first move Dragonite gains is Twister. This creates a twister and sends it flying in the chosen direction. When the twister hits enemies it reduces their movement speed by 50% for one second.

Move 1 Upgrade Options

The first upgrade option for move 1 is Dragon Dance which sees Dragonite dash in a predetermined direction, switching between a left arc, right arc, and a direct dash with each usage. After utilizing this move, you’ll get a buff that increases movement speed, increases attack, and increases attack speed for the following three auto attacks. The duration of this benefit resets upon reuse, and it stacks up to three times.

The other upgrade option for move 1 is Extreme Speed. When used, Dragonite dashes at the targeted enemy, hurling them into the air and pushing other foes out of the way while slowing and injuring all nearby enemies. This move’s use resets Multiscale’s cooldown. Both moves are good, but you should almost always pick Dragon Dance for its synergy with Hyper Beam.

Move 2 Upgrade Options

Moving on, we have the second move which is Dragon Breath. This sends a powerful gust of air in the desired direction. If this move hits the enemy then Dragonite’s next move sees its damage increased.

The first upgrade option for move 2 is Hyper Beam. After a delay, this fires an energy beam towards the targeted opponent, damaging all foes it strikes and adding damage dependent on their maximum health. Depending on how many stacks of Dragon Dance Dragonite possesses, from 0 to 3, the move will deal different amounts of damage. Dragonite cannot move when the beam is being released.

Outrage is the second upgrade option. When used, Dragonite stamps the ground, causing additional damage to foes around thanks to his most recent boosted attack. The auto attack speed of Dragonite is also boosted, and all of its attacks are now melee Boosted Attacks that alternate between the water, electric, and fire Boosted Attacks. The moment the bonus expires, Dragonite is stunned.

Although both upgrades have their uses, Hyper Beam is the best choice due to its synergy with Dragon Dance.

Dragonite’s Unite Move

Dragonite gains Draco Impact at level 9. When used, Dragonite flies up in the air, becoming untargetable, before making an impact in a select spot accompanied by a rain of comets on a designated area, dealing damage and throwing enemies in the air. The farther Dragonite flies, the more the Unite gauge is consumed.

Dragonite’s Best Skill Loadout

The best Dragonite loadout is pairing Dragon Dance with Hyper Beam. This loadout offers the best damage output Dragonite can achieve due to the great synergy of Dragon Dance increasing your Hyper Beam damage. This also allows Dragonite some mobility to outmaneuver less mobile opponents.
