Is Gunther a good general in Evony?

Gunther is one of the best Generals when it comes to Siege PvP. His Special Skill, The King of Atlis, is almost unrivaled in this role and adds 45% attack and defense to Siege Machines with a further 30% HP added when he takes any Dragon or Spiritual Beast with him. However, it should be noted that he doesn’t have much versatility and quickly falls down the ranks when used with any other troop type or even as Defense General with Siege Machines.

Gunther – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

The King of Atlis

Increases siege machines’ attack and defense by 45% when General is leading the army to attack. Increases ranged troops and siege machines’ HP by 30% when General brings any dragon or Spiritual Beast to attack.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Gunther will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Marching Siege Machine Attack +15% and HP +10%.
• 2 Star – Marching Troop Death into Wounded Rate +8%.
• 3 Star – Marching Ranged Troop and Siege Machine HP +15% and Defense +15%.
• 4 Star – Siege Machine Attack +30% and Defense +15%.
• 5 Star – Marching Siege Machine Attack +30%, Marching Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Defense and HP +15%.

Gunther – Specialities

These skills are unlocked once the Evony General reaches level 25. They can be expensive to develop, requiring Gems and Runestones. Read our Evony General Guide for more details.

• Siege Machine Attack +10%
• Siege Machine Defense +10%

Bash

• Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack +10%

Siege Machine Ares

• Siege Machine Attack +10%

Rhine Flame Axe

• Marching Siege Machine Attack +40%
• Attacking Siege Machine and Ranged Troop Defense +25%
• Attacking Ranged Troop and Siege Machine HP +25%

Siege PvP

Everything for this build is focused on improving a very heavy siege march. This is likely only viable for big spenders as the gem repair cost could be very high. However, it is particularly potent and will cause huge damage to the enemy.
