Indeed, having a great Skill Book set on your General could mean the difference between a sweeping victor in PvP or a crushing defeat. Unfortunately, however, they can be hard to come across and on top of this, you will need many of them to lock in your preferred combination. Let us help you with this Evony Skill Book Guide!

What are Evony Skill Books

Skill Books in Evony are special items that can be used to add additional buffs to your Generals. This can include buffs to your Evony Troop stats, Gathering, and more! Each General in Evony can have 4 Skill Books added to it and they can range from level 1 to level 4. In the next sections of this Evony Skill Book Guide, we will cover all the different Skill Books available and how to apply them in the best way.

Evony Skill Book List

There are a huge array of Skill Books that can be added to your Generals in Evony. In the below list, we outline all those currently available and their corresponding effect. Each is split into 4 different categories: Military, Development, Subordinate City, and Enemy Debuff.

Renascence	Reduces General’s imprisonment time and reviving time.

Lumber Gatherer	Increases Lumber Gathering Speed when General is leading the army.
Food Gatherer	Increases Food Gathering Speed when General is leading the army.
Stone Exploitation	Brings back extra resources from Resource Spots when General is leading the army.
Ore Exploitation	Brings back extra resources from Resource Spots when General is leading the army.
Lumber Exploitation	Brings back extra resources from Resource Spots when General is leading the army.

Luck	Increases Double Items Drop Rate from Monsters when General is leading the army.

How to Get Evony Skill Books

Unfortunately, acquiring Skill Books in vast quantities can be quite difficult if you are a low spender and quite expensive if you do spend. Keep reading below in this Evony Skill Book Guide for all the best ways to get Skill Books.

Viking Challenge

Taking part in the Evony Viking Challenge Event is probably the easiest and most consistent way to get Skill Books. Depending on the difficulty of the challenge you undertake and how far you go, you will be rewarded with a certain number and level of Skill Books. Wheel of Fortune

Another option that is very F2P friendly is the Wheel of Fortune. Of course, it will require you to get some luck in hitting the Skill Books you want. However, if you are able to obtain a large number of Chips you could quickly build up a great supply. The best places to get Chips are from the Hydra Event and the Viking Challenge.

Academy

Using the Academy Shop for Skill Books is a good place if you are after a very specific Skill Book. However, it should be noted that this will cost you a significant amount of Gems, especially if you need to refresh it a lot to find the Skill Book you want. The cost of a Skill Book will depend on its level as below:

Level 1 – 3,000 Gems
Level 2 – 5,000 Gems
Level 3 – 8,000 Gems

Relics

Evony Relics are another avenue that should be pursued when you are on the hunt for more Skill Books. Disassemble

In Evony, the process of Disassembling a Skill Book sees you get rid of the chosen Skill Book in exchange for Skill Book Pages. You will likely end up with many Level 1 duplicates and just some specific Skill Books you do not want, these should all be disassembled. Once you have 10 Skill Book Pages, you can compose them together to create a random Level 4 Skill Book. Pages acquired from disassembling are as below:

Level 1 – 1 Skill Book Page
Level 2 – 2 Skill Book Pages
Level 3 – 3 Skill Book Pages
Level 4 – 4 Skill Book Pages

Events

Apart from the above, there are a number of Events always ongoing that can be a good source of Skill Books. However, the methods already mentioned are the best. Always keep an eye on the Events in the game to make sure you are not missing out on any easy Skill Books.

In terms of Debuff Skill Books, these are only available during purchasing events. Therefore, to get these, you will need to buy the relevant packs when they are on sale. You will need to do this if you want to optimize your Evony PvP Generals.

How to Get Level 4 Evony Skill Books

Of course, the aim with all your Generals is to get them filled with Level 4 Skill Books. However, most of the Evony Skill Books you accumulate through gameplay will be Levels 1 to 3. To get a Level 4 Skill Book you can compose 10 Skill Book Pages together to create one. Each time you do this, the Level 4 Skill Book created will be random.

As mentioned above, Skill Book Pages can be obtained by Disassembling Skill Books you do not need. This should be regularly done in order to try and get lucky for composing the Level 4 Skill Books you do want.

How to Add Skill Books to your Evony Generals

Adding Skill Books to your Evony General is as simple as navigating to them and selecting the Skills tab. However, it is difficult to get the exact Skill Books you want for the General to stick. Once a Skill Book has been added, there is a chance that the next Skill Book you apply will overwrite one of the previous Skill Books already added. This chance increases as you add more Skill Books. This can lead to many wasted Skill Books.

Thankfully, there is a method to add Skill Books optimally in order to minimize wastage. This method requires you to start by adding only the Level 1 Skill Books you want to add. You should keep attempting this until all 4 Skill Book slots are occupied by the Level 1 Skill Books you wish to add. This ensures you do not waste any of the precious level 4 Skill Books.

Once you have added all your level 1 Skill Books, it is time to add the higher levels. If all Skill Book slots are occupied, a higher level Skill Book is guaranteed to replace the level 1 copy of itself. Although this will save you wasted higher-level Skill Books, it will still require many copies of your desired Skill Book at level 1 due to the overwriting that will occur. It is also worth highlighting that you should always check that all the Skill Books you want to add to a specific General can be. To do this, simply attempt to add each of the Skill Books you are thinking of adding. You will get a warning if you cannot add it and if you can you will be asked to confirm. You can cancel this to check all the Skill Books and have another think if you run into a problem.
