What are Spiritual Beasts in Evony
Spiritual Beasts in Evony are special creatures that you can unlock from the Pasture building. They are similar in function to Dragons and can be equipped to Generals in order to assist them in battle. Each Spiritual Beast has separate unlock requirements and a different specialty in terms of its best use. Keep reading below to learn all you need to know in this Evony Spiritual Beast Guide.
List of the Different Spiritual Beasts in Evony
As mentioned in the previous section, there are several different Spiritual Beasts in Evony that can be accessed from the Pasture Building. Each Spiritual Beast has slightly different buffs that it will bring to your army when equipped with a General. Below we outline each one and explain how they are best used.
Thunder Scorpion
The Thunder Scorpion Spiritual Beast is best used with Ranged PvP Generals. This is due to the fact that all of its buffs are focused on improving Ranged Troops. Once you have upgraded your Thunder Scorpion to Level 20 and Red Quality, their buffs will be as follows:
- Ranged Troop Attack +52%
- Ranged Troop Defense +52%
- Ranged Troop HP +52%
- March Speed +52%

Behemoth King
The Behemoth King Spiritual Beast is best used with Siege PvP Generals. This is due to the fact that all of its buffs are focused on improving Siege Machines. Once you have upgraded your Behemoth King to Level 20 and Red Quality, their buffs will be as follows:
- Siege Machine Attack +52%
- Siege Machine Defense +52%
- Siege Machine HP +52%
- March Size Capacity +26%

Lord of Lava
The Lord of Lava Spiritual Beast is best used with Ground PvP Generals. This is due to the fact that all of its buffs are focused on improving Ground Troops. Once you have upgraded your Lord of Lava to Level 20 and Red Quality, their buffs will be as follows:
- Ground Troop Attack +52%
- Ground Troop Defense +52%
- Ground Troop HP +52%
- Troop Load +52%

Bird of Hurricane
The Bird of Hurricane Spiritual Beast is best used with Mounted PvP Generals or Monster Generals. This is due to the fact that all of its buffs are focused on improving Mounted Troops. Once you have upgraded your Bird of Hurricane to Level 20 and Red Quality, their buffs will be as follows:
- Mounted Troop Attack +52%
- Mounted Troop Defense +52%
- Mounted Troop HP +52%

The Nine-tailed Fox Spiritual Beast is best used with Ranged PvP Generals and Siege Machine PvP Generals. This is due to the fact that all of its buffs are focused on improving Ranged Troops and Siege Machines. Once you have upgraded your Nine-tailed Fox to Level 20 and Red Quality, their buffs will be as follows:

Kong
The Kong Spiritual Beast is best used with Ranged PvP Generals and Siege Machine PvP Generals. This is due to the fact that all of its buffs are focused on improving Ranged Troops and Siege Machines. Once you have upgraded your Kong to Level 20 and Red Quality, their buffs will be as follows:
- Marching Ranged Troop Attack +102%
- Attacking Ranged Troop and Siege Machine HP +102%

Burning Godzilla
The Burning Godzilla Spiritual Beast is best used with Ground Defense Generals and Mounted Defense Generals. This is due to the fact that all of its buffs are focused on improving the stats of in-city Ground Troops and Mounted Troops. Once you have upgraded your Burning Godzilla to Level 20 and Red Quality, their buffs will be as follows:
- In-city Ground Troop Attack +130%
- In-city Ground Troop and Mounted Troop HP +130%
- Enemy Ranged Troop Defense -52%
- Archer Tower Attack +130%
Siren
The Siren Spiritual Beast is best used with Ground PvP Generals. This is due to the fact that all her buffs are focused on improving the stats of Ground Troops. Once you have upgraded your Siren to Level 20 and Red Quality, their buffs will be as follows:
- Ground Troop Attack +104%
- Mounted Troop HP +104%
- Enemy Ranged Troop Attack -52%
- Marching Ground Troop HP +52%
Chiron
The Chiron Spiritual Beast is best used with Mounted PvP Generals and Ground PvP Generals. This is due to the fact that all his buffs are focused on improving the stats of Ground Troops and Mounted Troops. Once you have upgraded your Chiron to Level 20 and Red Quality, their buffs will be as follows:

How to Get Each Spiritual Beast in Evony
Each Spiritual Beast in Evony has slightly different unlock requirements in order to get them. Indeed, some just require the Pasture to be a certain level and some Spiritual Beast Experience, while others also require a special item to unlock them. These requirements for each Spiritual Beast are outlined in the table below:

As can be seen from the table above, Spiritual Beast EXP is pretty vital for unlocking all of the Spiritual Beasts. In addition, you will also need it to increase the level of your Spiritual Beasts in order to improve their buffs. How to get Pegasus Spirit
During Spiritual Beast Events, the Pegasus Spirit can be bought in exchange for 400 Spiritual Beast Scales. Spiritual Beast Scales are obtained by killing Boss Monsters and Event Monsters during the event period or by buying special packs that contain them.
How to get Fox Mask
During Spiritual Beast Events, the Fox Mask can be bought in exchange for 400 Spiritual Beast Scales. Spiritual Beast Scales are obtained by killing Boss Monsters and Event Monsters during the event period or by buying special packs that contain them.
How to get Soul of Kong
During Spiritual Beast Events, the Soul of Kong can be bought in exchange for 400 Spiritual Beast Scales. Spiritual Beast Scales are obtained by killing Boss Monsters and Event Monsters during the event period or by buying special packs that contain them.
How to get Burning Core
During Spiritual Beast Events, the Soul of Kong can be bought in exchange for 400 Spiritual Beast Scales. Spiritual Beast Scales are obtained by killing Boss Monsters and Event Monsters during the event period or by buying special packs that contain them.
How to get Siren Trident
During Spiritual Beast Events, the Siren Trident can be bought in exchange for 400 Spiritual Beast Scales. Spiritual Beast Scales are obtained by killing Boss Monsters and Event Monsters during the event period or by buying special packs that contain them.

During Spiritual Beast Events, the Chimera Badge can be bought in exchange for 400 Spiritual Beast Scales. Spiritual Beast Scales are obtained by killing Boss Monsters and Event Monsters during the event period or by buying special packs that contain them.
How to Improve Spiritual Beasts in Evony
Spiritual Beats can be improved using 2 different methods. Firstly they can be leveled up, to a maximum of level 20, using Spiritual Beast EXP. Secondly, they can be Smelted to improve their Quality by using a combination of Gems, Gold, Medals, Fox Tails, and Badges. We will now cover this in a bit more detail in the sections below.
Leveling Up Spiritual Beasts
This is the most simple way of improving your Spiritual Beasts. Simply apply your Spiritual Beast EXP to the one you wish to level, and once it reaches the target, the Spiritual Beast will see its level increase along with its buffs. As already covered in more detail above, there are many ways to get Spiritual Beast EXP such as from Boss Monsters, Event Monsters, the World Boss, and the Wheel of Fortune.
Smelting Spiritual Beasts
This is the second method of improving your Spiritual Beasts and it is also the more costly method. You will need Gems, Gold, Medals, Fox Tails, and Crimson Crystals to do it. Each time you Smelt a Spiritual Beast, their Quality will improve, along with their buffs.
Each Spiritual Beast will require Gems and Gold to be Smelted. However, the final items required (Medals, Fox Tails, or Crimson Crystals), will depend on the Spiritual Beast that is being Smelted. The requirement for Smelting each Spiritual Beast are summarized in the table below:

Each time you Smelt a Spiritual Beast to improve its Quality, the resource requirements will increase. It is therefore important to ensure you know where to get them. A good start is keeping your Gems topped up with our list of all the Best Places to get Free Gems in Evony.
Next, you will want to ensure you have Crimson Crystals and Fox tails depending on the Spiritual Beast you want to Smelt. Each of these items can be obtained from the Spiritual Beast Event shop in exchange for Spiritual Beast Scales which are found by killing Boss Monsters during the event.
The final Quality you can smelt each Spiritual Beast up to is the Red Quality. This will cost a significant amount of each of the resources outlined in the table. However, you will also need one further item at this stage called Awakening Stones. These can be obtained by purchasing packs or by placing well in the World Boss Event.
Spiritual Beast Seal
Some Evony Spiritual Beasts can have Seals activated on them for additional buffs once they reach level 10. Each of these Spiritual Beasts has 5 different Seals that can each be leveled up to a maximum level of 20 for a total Seal level of 100.
This comes at a significant cost of Gems and Blood Crystals. Once a Spiritual Beasts Seal level reaches level 10 they will begin to unlock Innate Skills for even more buffs. Keep reading below for more details on all of this.
Spiritual Beast Seal Buffs
As outlined above, once certain Spiritual Beasts reach level 10 they can have Seals unlocked for them. Each one has 5 different Seals that can be upgraded in exchange for Gems and Blood Crystals up to a maximum level of 20. These Seals grant additional buffs. When are Spiritual Beast Seals Active?
The buffs gained from Seals are triggered immediately upon unlocking and do not require the Spiritual Beast to be attached to an Evony General.
Spiritual Beast Innate Skills
Once a Spiritual Beast sees its Seal level reach a certain threshold, it will start to unlock Innate Skills. This begins at Seal level 10 and the Pasture building must also be at level 30. As the Spiritual Beasts level increases it will begin to unlock more Innate Skills up to a maximum of 3 and also see these Innate Skills improve up to a maximum star level of 5. When are Spiritual Beast Innate Skills Active?
The buffs gained from Innate Skills are triggered immediately upon unlocking and do not require the Spiritual Beast to be attached to an Evony General.
How to Get Blood Crystals in Evony
Blood Crystals are vital for improving the Seals on your Evony Spiritual Beasts. However, they can be pretty difficult to get hold of. In order to find them you must kill high-level monsters that are over 200m in power. Should you use Spiritual Beasts or Dragons?
As mentioned at the start of this Evony Spiritual Beast Guide, the function of Spiritual Beasts is very similar to Dragons. Once fully upgraded, Dragons are without a doubt a much better option. However, at the same time, they are much more expensive in terms of the Gems and Materials outlay required to unlock and upgrade them.
Therefore, in the early game, you are likely better off using Spiritual Beasts while you use your materials for making great Equipment for your Generals instead of for feeding your Dragons. In addition, further into the game, it can never hurt to have some of each. You will have many Generals at this point that will benefit from having either of these equipped.
