Is Marcian a good general in Evony?

Marcian is a Ranged PvP General with a very high-powered Special Skill, Column of Marcian, making him useful right from the get-go, adding 60% to Ranged Troop attack and defense and 45% to their HP. With development, his kit continues to add to this; however, he is a premium option, meaning it will cost you a significant amount to get his Ascensions. It should also be noted that his buffs are largely only active in attack, and he should therefore not be used in Defense.

Marcian – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Column of Marcian

Increases ranged troops’ attack and defense by 60% and HP by 45% when General is leading the army to attack.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Marcian will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Attacking Ranged Troop Attack, Defense and HP +10%
• 2 Star – Attacking Troop Death into Wounded Rate +8%
• 3 Star – Attacking Ranged Troop Attack +25%, Attacking Ranged Troop and Siege Machine HP +20%
• 4 Star – Attacking Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack and Defense +20%
• 5 Star – Attacking Ranged Troop Attack and HP +35%, March Size Capacity +8%

Ranged PvP

This build is ideal for players who are very range-heavy. It sacrifices everything in favor of ranged attack whilst also topping up ranged troop HP and Defense via equipment refines. This build will ensure you do maximum damage, especially in the early game when players are quite mounted heavy.
