Is Sei Shonagon a good general in Evony?

Sei Shonagon excels as a lead Siege PvP General and performs just as well, if not better, as a Siege Defense General. However, to maximize her potential, she must be equipped with a Dragon or Spiritual Beast. This is because her Special Skill, Heian Grace, only activates its full 45% Siege Machine defense buff when one of these is present. Regardless, the skill still boosts Siege Machine attack and HP by 40%, even if this condition isn’t met.

Heian Grace

Increases siege machines’ attack and HP by 40% when General is leading the army. Increases ranged troops and siege machines’ defense by 45% when General brings any Dragon or Spiritual Beast.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Sei Shonagon will receive to her Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Siege Machine Attack +10%, Defense and HP +10%.
• 2 Star – Attacking Troop Death into Wounded Rate +8%.
• 3 Star – Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack +15%, Siege Machine HP +20%.
• 4 Star – Siege Machine Attack +15%, Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Defense +10%.
• 5 Star – Siege Machine Attack +20%, Defense and HP +20%.

Everything for this build is focused on improving a very heavy siege march. This is likely only viable for big spenders as the gem repair cost could be very high. However, it is particularly potent and will cause huge damage to the enemy.
