Is Sigurd a good general in Evony?

Sigurd is a truly phenomenal General driven by his raw ranged buffs straight from the off through his Special Skill, Snake-in-the-Eye, which adds 45% to Ranged Troop Attack and HP and 30% to their defense. In addition, quite rare for a Special Skill of this composition, he has no Skill Book restrictions, allowing you to build on this even more quickly. Lastly, he is extremely versatile in that his buffs remain active in defense, making him one of the Best Defense Generals in the game.

Sigurd – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Snake-in-the-Eye

Increases ranged troops’ attack and HP by 45% and ranged troops and siege machines’ defense by 30% when General is leading the army.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Sigurd will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Ranged Troop Attack +10%, Defense and HP +10%.
• 2 Star – Marching Ranged Troop Death into Wounded Rate +8%.
• 3 Star – Ranged Troop Attack +10%, March Speed +30%.
• 4 Star – Ranged Troop Attack +8%, Defense and HP +8%.
• 5 Star – March Size Capacity +10%, Ranged Troop Attack +30%.

These skills are unlocked once the Evony General reaches level 25. They can be expensive to develop, requiring Gems and Runestones. Read our Evony General Guide for more details.

Ranged PvP

This build is ideal for players who are very range-heavy. It sacrifices everything in favor of ranged attack whilst also topping up ranged troop HP and Defense via equipment refines. This build will ensure you do maximum damage, especially in the early game when players are quite mounted heavy.

Ranged Defense

Range defense build for players who are very range focused or do not want the gem repair cost associated with siege machines. Although not as powerful as a siege defense, it is still very effective.

• Lvl 4 Ranged Troop HP – Ranged HP +25%
• Lvl 4 Ranged Troop Range Bonus – Ranged Troop Range +100

Siege and Ranged PvP

Due to this general’s buff to both ranged troops and siege machines, it can be a good play to run a mixed march with both troop types in certain scenarios. This build will work well for these situations. Siege range is prioritized over siege attack as siege attack is already very high with the additional range giving you some extra attacks before the enemy has you in their range.
