Is Li Shimin a good general in Evony?

Li Shimin is an Evony Ranged PvP specialist. In addition to ranged attack buffs, he also enjoys a nice 10% boost to his march size from the special skill.

As he is available from the Tavern, he can be a good option for low spenders. However, there are better options available for ranged players.

Li Shimin – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Reign of Zhenguan

Increases March Size by 10% and Ranged Troop Attack by 15% when General is leading the army.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Li Shimin will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Ranged Troop Attack +10%.
• 2 Star – Increases Troop Death into Wounded Rate by 8% when General is leading the army to attack.
• 3 Star – When General is launching Alliance War, Rally Capacity +6%.
• 4 Star – Ranged Troop Attack +10% and Defense +15%.
• 5 Star – Ranged Troop Attack +15% and HP +15%.

Li Shimin – Specialities

These skills are unlocked once the Evony General reaches level 25. They can be expensive to develop, requiring Gems and Runestones. Read our Evony General Guide for more details.

The below builds outline which skill books and equipment refines you should use depending on your requirements.

Ranged PvP

This build is ideal for players who are very range heavy. It sacrifices everything in favor of ranged attack whilst also topping up ranged troop HP and Defense via equipment refines.

This build will ensure you do maximum damage, especially in the early game when players are quite mounted heavy. You can alternatively swap March Size for Ranged Troop HP if you want to give your Ranged troops a bit more durability.
