Is Martinus a good general in Evony?

Martinus is a great option as both a Mounted PvP General and a Monster Hunting General. Indeed, his Special Skill, The Dragon Wakes, adds a massive 40% to the attack of Mounted Troops when he takes any Dragon, however, it should be noted that he can’t take a Mounted Attack Skill Book meaning he really needs his Specialties or Asensions upgraded to make him viable versus other readily available options. Regardless of this, he should be a priority for all players due to an additional 10% March Speed granted to all your marches for simply owning him.

Martinus – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

The Dragon Wakes

Increases mounted troops’ attack by 25% when General is leading the army, and by extra 15% when General brings any dragon. Increases March Speed by 10% when you own the General.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Martinus will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Mounted Troop Attack +10%.
• 2 Star – Enemy In-city Troop Wounded into Death rate +8%.
• 3 Star – When General is launching Alliance War, Rally Capacity +6%.
• 4 Star – Mounted Troop HP +35%.
• 5 Star – Mounted Troop Attack +5% and extra +20% with Dragon.

Big Prey Hunter

This build is ideal for players who are looking to take down big monster prey. It sacrifices everything in favor of mounted attack and mounted HP via equipment refines and skill books.

This build will ensure you do maximum damage to boss monsters on the first hit. This will minimize your losses and allow you to take on higher-level bosses for better rewards.

• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop HP Against Monster – Mounted Troop HP Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%

• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Mounted Troop HP % x4

Looter Hunter Hybrid

This build will allow you to take down big boss monsters whilst also maximizing your loot return. It replaces the HP against monster skill book with the luck skill book to increase the double item drop rate.

This will of course increase your losses against high-level bosses. However, the double drops are good compensation.

• Lvl 4 Luck – Double Items Drop Rate +18%

Mounted PvP

Mounted PvP can be very useful in the early and late stages of the game. Early game, players will have huge, mounted marches which you can destroy with your higher mounted buff.

Late game you will start to come across keeps set up with ground troop defenses, mounted troops annihilate them. This build will maximize your mounted attack and mounted HP for a mounted PvP march.
