Is Simeon the Great a good general in Evony?

Simeon the Great AKA Simeon the Goat. He is the MVP of a ranged PvP march and features one of the highest ranged attacks once fully leveled with specialties maxed out. Unfortunately, much of this attack comes from Simeon’s last specialty.

This can be very expensive to achieve with Gems and Runestones. Therefore, if you are not a big spender, it is often better to go with Elektra. She will offer a higher ranged attack when the final specialty is not developed.

Simeon the Great – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Empire Offensive

Increases ranged troops and siege machines’ attack by 20% when General is leading the army to attack. Increases ranged troops’ attack by another 15% when General brings any dragon.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Simeon the Great will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Marching Siege Machine and Ranged Troop Attack +5%, Marching Ranged Troop HP +20%.
• 2 Star – Enemy In-city Troop Wounded into Death rate +10%.
• 3 Star – When General is launching Alliance War, Rally Capacity +8%.
• 4 Star – Marching Siege Machine and Ranged Troop Attack +10%, Marching Ranged Troop HP +30%.
• 5 Star – Marching Siege Machine and Ranged Troop Attack +5%, with Dragon, extra Marching Ranged Troop Attack +20%.

Simeon the Great – Specialities

The below builds outline which skill books and equipment refines you should use depending on your requirements.

Ranged PvP

This build is ideal for players who are very range heavy. It sacrifices everything in favor of ranged attack whilst also topping up ranged troop HP and Defense via equipment refines.

This build will ensure you do maximum damage, especially in the early game when players are quite mounted heavy.

• Lvl 4 Ranged Troop Attack – Ranged Attack +25%
• Lvl 4 Ranged Troop Range Bonus – Ranged Troop Range +100
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%
• Equipment Refines:
• Bow – Ranged Troop Attack % x4
• Armor – Ranged Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Ranged Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Ranged Troop HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Ranged Troop HP % x4
• Ring – Ranged Troop Attack % x4

Siege and Ranged PvP

If you like, and can afford, to mix in some siege to your march then this is the build for you. It still assumes you are more range heavy, given Simeon the Great’s skills, however, it also gives your siege troops a boost to their range.

Siege range is prioritized over siege attack as siege attack is already very high with the additional range giving you some extra attacks before the enemy has you in their range.
