Is El Cid a good general in Evony?

El Cid is very much a reserve general in Evony. Although can do a job in Mounted and Ground PvP, there are far better options. You are better off pursuing one of these rather than spending too much time developing El Cid.

Should not be used as a defense general as the majority of his skill boosts are only active when El Cid is attacking.

El Cid – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Please note, that this General can be ascended through the Evony General Ascending feature. Each ascended star level will add an additional buff to the General’s Special skill. Read our Evony General Ascending Guide for more details on Evony General Ascension.

National Warrior

Increases Troop Attack by 10% when General is leading the army to attack. Increases ground troops and mounted troops’ attack by 15% when General brings any dragon.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended El Cid will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Marching Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Defense +10% and HP +10%.
• 2 Star – Enemy In-city Troop Wounded into Death rate +10%.
• 3 Star – When General is launching Alliance War, Rally Capacity +8%.
• 4 Star – Marching Mounted Troop and Ground Troop HP +20%.
• 5 Star – Marching Mounted Troop and Ground Troop Attack +15% and Defense +15%.

El Cid – Specialities

These skills are unlocked once the Evony General reaches level 25. They can be expensive to develop, requiring Gems and Runestones. Read our Evony General Guide for more details.

The below builds outline which skill books and equipment refines you should use depending on your requirements.

Mounted and Ground PvP

This build works best for players who have a good mix of Mounted and Ground troops. It adds mounted troop HP to help the mounted troops survive the attacks from ranged troops.

The ground troops also see their HP and Speed increase in order to reach the enemy intact and fast.

• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop HP – Mounted HP +25%

• Lvl 4 Ground Troop Speed – Ground Speed +20%

Ground PvP

This build is ideal for players who are very ground-heavy. It sacrifices everything in favor of ground attack, HP, and speed. It will help your ground troops get to the enemy quicker and give them greater HP to withstand ranged attacks as they go forward.

• Lvl 4 Ground Troop HP – Ground HP +25%
• Lvl 4 Ground Troop Speed – Ground Speed +20%

Mounted PvP

Mounted PvP can be very useful in the early and late stages of the game. Early game, players will have huge, mounted marches which you can destroy with your higher mounted buff.

Late game you will start to come across keeps set up with ground troop defenses, mounted troops annihilate them. This build will maximize your mounted attack and mounted HP for a mounted PvP march.
