Is Beowulf a good general in Evony?

Beowulf is an excellent option for anyone looking for a lead Monster Hunting General. Indeed, his Special Skill, Dragon Slayer, adds a massive 35% to Mounted Troop attack and defense and a further 30% to their HP. However, his final specialty really sets him apart in terms of Monster Hunting, with a huge 35% buff to Mounted attack when attacking Monsters. You will also notice that he receives some decent Ground buffs but overall there are better options in this position.

Beowulf – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Dragon Slayer

Increases mounted troops’ attack and defense by 35% and increases ground troops and mounted troops’ HP by 30% when General is leading the army to attack.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Beowulf will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Mounted Troop Defense +10% and HP +15%.
• 2 Star – Marching Troop Death into Wounded Rate +8%.
• 3 Star – When attacking Monsters, Mounted Troop Attack +16% and HP +10%.
• 4 Star – Mounted Troop and Ground Troop Attack +10% and Defense +15%.
• 5 Star – Mounted Troop Attack +20%, Mounted Troop Defense and HP +10%.

Beowulf – Specialities

These skills are unlocked once the Evony General reaches level 25. They can be expensive to develop, requiring Gems and Runestones. Read our Evony General Guide for more details.

Big Prey Hunter

This build is ideal for players who are looking to take down big monster prey. It sacrifices everything in favor of mounted attack and march size via equipment refines and skill books. This build will ensure you do maximum damage to boss monsters on the first hit. This will minimize your losses and allow you to take on higher-level bosses for better rewards.

• Skill Books:
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack Against Monster – Mounted Attack Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%
• Equipment Refines:
• Spear – Mounted Troop Attack % x4
• Armor – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Ring – Mounted Troop Attack % x4

Looter Hunter Hybrid

This build will allow you to take down big boss monsters whilst also maximizing your loot return. It replaces the march size skill book with the luck skill book to increase the double-item drop rate. This will of course decrease your damage but the double drops are good compensation.

• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack Against Monster – Mounted Attack Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 Luck – Double Items Drop Rate +18%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Equipment Refines:

• Armor – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Mounted Troop HP % x4

Mounted PvP

Mounted PvP can be very useful in the early and late stages of the game. Early game, players will have huge, mounted marches which you can destroy with your higher mounted buff. Late game you will start to come across keeps set up with ground troop defenses, mounted troops annihilate them. This build will maximize your mounted attack and speed for a mounted PvP march.
