Is George Monck a good general in Evony?

George Monck is an absolute beast when left to lead Mounted Troops in both PvP and against Monsters. Indeed, his skills all drive this home with his Special Skill, Monarch Restoration, especially potent with a 50% buff to mounted attack and a further 40% to their HP and Defense when he takes any Dragon or Spiritual Beast. He also has no Skill Book restrictions, allowing you to get some serious buffs on him without much investment. However, he can be a little tricky to get hold of and therefore may suit as an Assistant more as it will be difficult to Ascend him. In addition, the majority of his buffs are only active in attack and he should therefore not be used as a Defense General.

George Monck – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Monarchy Restoration

Increases mounted troops’ attack by 50% when General is leading the army to attack. Increases ground troops and mounted troops’ defense and HP by 40% when General brings any Dragon or Spiritual Beast to attack.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended George Monck will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Marching Mounted Troop Defense +15% and HP +15%.
• 2 Star – Marching Troop Death into Wounded Rate +8%.
• 3 Star – When attacking, Mounted Troop Attack +35%, March Size Capacity +8%.
• 4 Star – Marching Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Attack +15% and HP +15%.
• 5 Star – Marching Mounted Troop Attack +40%, Defense and HP +25%.

Big Prey Hunter

This build is ideal for players who are looking to take down big monster prey. It sacrifices everything in favor of mounted attack and march size via equipment refines and skill books. This build will ensure you do maximum damage to boss monsters on the first hit. This will minimize your losses and allow you to take on higher-level bosses for better rewards.

• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%
• Equipment Refines:

Looter Hunter Hybrid

This build will allow you to take down big boss monsters whilst also maximizing your loot return. It replaces the march size skill book with the luck skill book to increase the double-item drop rate. This will of course decrease your damage but the double drops are good compensation.

• Lvl 4 Luck – Double Items Drop Rate +18%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%

Mounted PvP

Mounted PvP can be very useful in the early and late stages of the game. Early game, players will have huge, mounted marches which you can destroy with your higher-mounted buff. Late game you will start to come across keeps set up with ground troop defenses, mounted troops annihilate them. This build will maximize your mounted attack and speed for a mounted PvP march.
