Is John Hunyadi a good general in Evony?

John Hunyadi makes an excellent choice for any players looking to run a march consisting of Ranged Troops, Siege Machines, or even a mixture of both. This is due to a pretty stacked Special Skill, Regent Governor, which grants huge buffs to these troop types which are further backed up by his specialties and ascended skills.

In particular, Regent Governor gives a massive 45% attack buff to Ranged Troops and Sieges Machines and a further 15% buff to the HP and defense of Siege Machines. However, it should be noted that these are only active when the General is attacking and therefore you should avoid using him as a Defense General.

John Hunyadi – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Regent Governor

Increases ranged troops and siege machines’ attack by 45% and siege machines’ defense and HP by 15% when General is leading the army to attack.

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended John Hunyadi will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Marching Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Defense +10% and HP +20%.
• 2 Star – Marching Troop Death into Wounded Rate +10%.
• 3 Star – Marching Siege Machine Attack +10%, March Size Capacity +10%.
• 4 Star – Marching Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack +15%, Marching Siege Machine Defense +25%.
• 5 Star – Marching Siege Machine Attack +25% and Defense +35%.

Ranged PvP

This build is ideal for players who are very range heavy. It sacrifices everything in favor of ranged attack whilst also topping up ranged troop HP and Defense via equipment refines. This build will ensure you do maximum damage, especially in the early game when players are quite mounted heavy.

Siege and Ranged PvP

Due to this general’s buff to both ranged troops and siege machines, it can be a good play to run a mixed march with both troop types in certain scenarios. This build will work well for these situations. Siege range is prioritized over siege attack as siege attack is already very high with the additional range giving you some extra attacks before the enemy has you in their range.

Everything for this build is focused on improving a very heavy siege march. This is likely only viable for big spenders as the gem repair cost could be very high. However, it is particularly potent and will cause huge damage to the enemy.
