Is Matthias I a good general in Evony?

Matthias I is a very strong Evony Siege General and Evony Ranged General. This makes him a great option when you have a good mix of these Troop Types.

Additionally, he can be used somewhat effectively as an Evony Siege Defense General. However, this role relies on you maxing his specialties as his special skill is only active in attack.

Matthias I – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Leader of the Mercenaries

Increases ranged troops and siege machines’ attack by 20% and March Size by 5% when General is leading the army to attack.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Matthias I will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Marching Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Defense +10% and HP +15%.
• 2 Star – Enemy In-city Troop Wounded into Death rate +10%.
• 3 Star – When General is launching Alliance War, Rally Capacity +8%.
• 4 Star – Marching Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack +15% and HP +5%.
• 5 Star – Marching Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack +15% and Defense +10%.

Siege PvP

Everything for this build is focused on improving a very heavy siege march. This is likely only viable for heavy spenders as the gem repair cost could be very high. However, it is particularly potent and will cause huge damage to the enemy.

• Lvl 4 Siege Machine Attack – Siege Attack +25%
• Lvl 4 Siege Machine Range Bonus – Siege Machine Range +200
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%
• Equipment Refines:
• Axe – Siege Machine Attack % x4
• Armor – Siege Machine Defense % x4
• Boots – Siege Machine Defense % x4
• Helmet – Siege Machine HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Siege Machine HP % x4
• Ring – Siege Machine Attack % x4

Siege and Ranged PvP

Although not quite as damaging as a pure siege march, this mixes in ranged troops and will keep your siege repair costs lower. The siege machines will also be effective at reducing the enemy numbers that your ranged troops will face by taking them out at greater range.
