Is James Bowie a good general in Evony?

James Bowie makes a good Ground Defense General. A lot of his skills and specialty are designed only to be used in defense. However, this does mean that he is less effective as an attacking general.

James Bowie – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Blade Warrior

Reduces enemy mounted troops’ HP by 20% when General is leading the army. Increases ground and mounted troops’ attack by 15% when General is the Main City Defense General.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended James Bowie will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – When General is the Main City Defense General, In-city Mounted Troop and Ground Troop Defense +10% and HP +10%.
• 2 Star – When General is the Main City Defense General, Hospital Capacity +15%.
• 3 Star – When General is the Main City Defense General, In-city Mounted Troop and Ground Troop Defense +15% and HP +15%.
• 4 Star – When General is the Main City Defense General, In-city Mounted Troop and Ground Troop Attack +15% and defense +15%.
• 5 Star – When General is the Main City Defense General, In-city Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Attack +15% and HP +15%.

This build is ideal for players who are very ground heavy. It sacrifices everything in favor of ground attack, HP, and speed. It will help your ground troops get to the enemy quicker and give them greater HP to withstand ranged attacks as they go forward.
