Is Maurice of Nassau a good general in Evony?

Maurice of Nassau is a pure Evony Duty General. Indeed, he is currently one of the best options for the Archer Tower building. His special skill brings a decent enemy ranged attack debuff and an in-city ranged and siege troop attack buff.

Your other option here is Ban Chao, however, Maurice brings a debuff against ranged troops rather than mounted troops like Ban Chao. A debuff against ranged troops is in most cases more important for defense.

Reduces enemy ranged troops’ attack by 15% and increases your in city ranged troops and siege machines’ attack by 20% when General is the Archer Tower Officer.

• 3 Star – When General is the Archer Tower Officer, Enemy Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack -10% and HP -10%.
• 4 Star – When General is the Archer Tower Officer, Enemy Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack -10% and Defense -15%.
• 5 Star – When General is the Archer Tower Officer, in-city Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack +10%, Defense and HP +15%.
