Is Robert Guiscard a good general in Evony?

Robert Guiscard is an interest option that can be used as an Evony Monster Hunting General, an Evony Mounted PvP General, an Evony Mounted Defense General, and even as an Evony Sub City General.

These options make him quite versatile. However, he is relatively weak in all four roles vs. other Evony Generals.

Robert Guiscard – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Leader of Normans

Increases mounted troops’ attack by 25% and reduces enemy ground troops and mounted troops’ defense by 15% when General is leading the army.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Robert Guiscard will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Defense +5% and HP +5%.
• 2 Star – Increases Troop Death into Wounded Rate by 8% when General is leading the army to attack.
• 3 Star – March Size Capacity +10%.
• 4 Star – Mounted Troop Attack +10%, Mounted Troop and Ground Troop Defense +10%.
• 5 Star – Mounted Troop Attack +10%, Mounted Troop and Ground Troop HP +10%.

Robert Guiscard – Specialities

The below builds outline which skill books and equipment refines you should use depending on your requirements.

Big Prey Hunter

This build is ideal for players who are looking to take down big monster prey. It sacrifices everything in favor of mounted attack and mounted HP via equipment refines and skill books.

This build will ensure you do maximum damage to boss monsters on the first hit. It will minimize your losses and allow you to take on higher level bosses for better rewards.

• Skill Books:
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack Against Monster – Mounted Attack Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%
• Equipment Refines:
• Spear – Mounted Troop Attack % x4
• Armor – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Ring – Mounted Troop Attack % x4

Looter Hunter Hybrid

This build will allow you to take down big boss monsters whilst also maximizing your loot return. It replaces the march size skill book with the luck skill book to increase double item drop rate.

This will of course decrease your damage output slightly. However, the double drops are good compensation.

• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack Against Monster – Mounted Attack Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 Luck – Double Items Drop Rate +18%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Equipment Refines:
• Spear – Mounted Troop Attack % x4
• Armor – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Ring – Mounted Troop Attack % x4

Mounted PvP

Mounted PvP can be very useful in the early and late stages of the game. Early game, players will have huge, mounted marches which you can destroy with your higher mounted buff.

Late game you will start to come across keeps set up with ground troop defenses, mounted troops annihilate them. This build will maximize your mounted attack and mounted HP for a mounted PvP march.

• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Speed – Mounted Troop Speed +20%
