Is Hermes a good general in Evony?

Hermes is a premium choice for Mounted Troops, excelling in Attack, Defense, and Monster Hunting. His ability to lead massive marches stands out, starting with a 12% march size buff from his Special Skill, God of Messengers. This increases further through his Specialties and Covenants, reaching an impressive 38% when fully maxed. With no Skill Book restrictions, you can enhance this even more, making him one of the most flexible Mounted Generals available.

Hermes – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

God of Messengers

Increases mounted troops’ attack and HP by 50% and March Size by 12% when General is leading the army.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Hermes will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Mounted Troop Attack +10%, Mounted Troop Defense and HP +10%.
• 2 Star – Attacking Troop Death into Wounded Rate +8%.
• 3 Star – Mounted Troop and Ground Troop Attack +20%, Defense and HP +15%.
• 4 Star – Mounted Troop Defense +20% and HP +20%.
• 5 Star – Mounted Troop Attack +25%, Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Defense and HP +25%.

Hermes – Specialities

These skills are unlocked once the Evony General reaches level 25. They can be expensive to develop, requiring Gems and Runestones. Read our Evony General Guide for more details.

Mounted Defense

This build focuses everything on a huge mounted troop defense. It is only useful in certain scenarios, such as when getting attacked by a heavy ground march.

Big Prey Hunter

This build is ideal for players who are looking to take down big monster prey. It sacrifices everything in favor of mounted attack and march size via equipment refines and skill books. This build will ensure you do maximum damage to boss monsters on the first hit. This will minimize your losses and allow you to take on higher-level bosses for better rewards.

• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%
• Equipment Refines:

Looter Hunter Hybrid

This build will allow you to take down big boss monsters whilst also maximizing your loot return. It replaces the march size skill book with the luck skill book to increase the double-item drop rate. This will of course decrease your damage but the double drops are good compensation.

Mounted PvP

Mounted PvP can be very useful in the early and late stages of the game. Early game, players will have huge, mounted marches which you can destroy with your higher-mounted buff. Late game you will start to come across keeps set up with ground troop defenses, mounted troops annihilate them. This build will maximize your mounted attack and speed for a mounted PvP march.
