Is Poligenus a good general in Evony?

Although Poligenus’ Special Skill does also buff Ground Troops, he is really all about the Mounted Troops. Indeed, his special skill alone will buff the attack of your Mounted Troops by a huge 40% and their defense and HP by a further 25%. This makes a durable and potent march that can do an excellent job against Monsters and in PvP.

However, it should be noted that his Special Skill does have one weakness in that it is only active in attack. Therefore, you should be careful not to set him as your Defense General unless you have maximized his Specialities which do make up for this shortcoming somewhat.

Poligenus – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Foresight

Increases ground troops and mounted troops’ attack by 40% and increases mounted troops’ defense and HP by 25% when General is leading the army.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Poligenus will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Marching Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Attack +5%, Defense and HP +5%.
• 2 Star – Enemy In-city Troop Wounded into Death rate +10%.
• 3 Star – When attacking, Mounted Troop Attack +10%, March Size Capacity +10%.
• 4 Star – Marching Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Defense +20% and HP +20%.
• 5 Star – Marching Mounted Troop Attack +30%, Defense and HP +25%.

The below builds outline which skill books and equipment refines you should use depending on your requirements.

Big Prey Hunter

This build is ideal for players who are looking to take down big monster prey. It sacrifices everything in favor of mounted attack and march size via equipment refines and skill books.

This build will ensure you do maximum damage to boss monsters on the first hit. This will minimize your losses and allow you to take on higher-level bosses for better rewards.

• Skill Books:
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack Against Monster – Mounted Attack Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%
• Equipment Refines:
• Spear – Mounted Troop Attack % x4
• Armor – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4

Looter Hunter Hybrid

This build will allow you to take down big boss monsters whilst also maximizing your loot return. It replaces the march size skill book with the luck skill book to increase the double-item drop rate. This will of course decrease your damage but the double drops are good compensation.

• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack Against Monster – Mounted Attack Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 Luck – Double Items Drop Rate +18%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Equipment Refines:

• Armor – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4

Mounted PvP

Mounted PvP can be very useful in the early and late stages of the game. Early game, players will have huge, mounted marches which you can destroy with your higher mounted buff.

Late game you will start to come across keeps set up with ground troop defenses, mounted troops annihilate them. This build will maximize your mounted attack and speed for a mounted PvP march.
